We travel a lot & compared to other hotels found our experiences here mixed; it is indeed central & very handy to britomart/vector etc, and very cheap. But be warned - the entirety of fort st and adjoining sts have major roadworks happening (pavement torn up, heavy machinery etc) 7 days a week right now... It would have been nice to know this before we booked - and, of course, too late to get our money back when we turned up. On weekends nightclub very near is deafening til 4am.... Not the oaks fault of course, but go elsewhere if you want peace & quiet (or a car park. They messed up our request for one & were adamant it was our fault.) .

It's a good place in centre of Auckland. very convenient to go around,find the Auckland' landmark buildings, eg Sky tower. room are clean and tidy. but the downside was the security charge made onto the visa, I did not realise it was going to be such a big charge, as most hotels just take your credit card number incase its needed, whereas I-Stay actually deducts a charge from your card and is not returned until 9 days after you leave. this is really unhappy experience. other than that, a good place for stay.

Hi Yuan Yao, Thank you for your feedback and I am glad that you had a great stay, we do benefit from a great location, easy walking distance to the Sky Tower, Queen Street, Britomart and the Viaduct Harbour. In regards to the security charge, we do indeed take a pre-authorisation. This charge covers incidentals and is in-line with most other hotel and apartment operators. The bank actually holds that amount on your card and we tell them to release it upon check out. Any issue between funds being refunded should be taken up with your bank as each individual banks have different policies. Was clean and tidy apartment,helpful and friendly Staff and great views of the Port but there were several items missing from within Room [sink plug] which Staff said they couldn't replace??? We were staying opposite a permanent resident who was having a loud and noisy party and seemed to ignore the Staff asking them to tone the noise down [11:30pm] I rang Reception twice???after the 1st call was not actioned! They obviously went out and arrived back at 4am making more noise [girls screaming and yahooing!!! up the hallway] The Staff seemed nonchalant about the whole ordeal??? This spoiled our overall positive experience.

Hi Deb, Thank you for feedback and we are pleased that you found our staff friendly and liked the apartment. I am sorry for certain items in the room being missing and I will look into this. As we are a strata titled property we do have a mix of people in the building and we are sorry that you got distrurbed by a permanent resident. When we have problems with certain tenants who breach our building rules, we do inform their landlords and appropriate action is taken. I am sorry if this did spoil your overall positive experience and we really do hope to welcome you back again. Thanks Again.
