  • We didnt end up staying at ibis styles, as they were having problems with their lifts & had arranged for us to stay elsewhere. The alternative accomodation where we stayed was lovely. So would like to thank them for arranging the alternative accommodation. We were up in auckland to attend robet plant concert which was good. 5

  • Hi i`ve stayed on room 105 30th and 31st of january. I was wondering if you seen any black jersey and a black belt beside the bed against the wall next to the fire exit. Anyway over all the staff are very friendy place is nice and cosy hopefully the lift would fix soon :). 5

  • We were relocated to a different hotel as the ibis had some renovations in progress. We were contacted well in advance by the ibis staff, so we have no complaints there. 5

  • Caz and his staff great, but felt sympathy for them having to work in those conditions. Can put up with no lift, but after reading numerous reviews commenting on urine smell would've thought something could've been done about it by now. With no lift it was disconcerting not to have nosings on the only stairs leading up. Don't expect much for the low price but if the tv and radio don't work, why put them in? basics missing such as bad drainage in wet shower and clothes rack so high up it was impossible to hang clothes on. However, i reiterate the staff are to be commended and the venue, appointments and linen surprisingly excellent. 1

  • Adequate for the price and a short stay (one person in a double room, 1 night). No air- con. (january, 20 deg c at night) so slept with "balcony" open - therefore earplugs were essential to sleep. . 5

  • Stayed here because the location was convenient and the price was cheap. The room was fitted out very cheaply, the bed was pretty small, and there was limited space in the room. However the room was clean and smelt fine and i think considering the low price paid, it is good value. Just don't expect 3 or 4 star quality for a 2 star price. 5

  • I understand the new owners are fairly amenable to sorting things out so will await improvements with interest. Reception staff great. 15th floor and still very very noisy from the adjacent nite club. I would have sworn they were out on our balcony but it wasn't big enough. I don't know why people comment about it being only suitable for backpackers because i can't see how a couple would fit two reasonable sized back packs into the room and still (a) go to the loo, or (b) see out the window. The prison aspect simply relates to the decor of grey upon grey or black. The lift! hey, if it hasn't worked for yonks and people keep coming back why bother. What's 20 or 25 minutes when you are on holiday. I have been assured that changes are in the wind so will watch the reviews closely to see if and when i may go back. Not worth any but the lower travelbug price in it's current state. . 1

  • Really wish i had read the other reviews before booking my stay here. First room i had smelt like urine, the fridge was all cracked and broken inside and the tv wouldn't switch on/off unless i got down on hands and knees and crawled under cabinet to find the wall switch (but careful i didn't graze the aerial cord as it was loose and would come out). Got roomed changed and at least the smell was gone in the next room - but bed was hard and uncomfortable, could feel all the springs. Very noisey too with a lot of inner city bar and traffic noise as had to keep window open for a hint of air to circulate as no air-con for sticky auckland summer humidity. Definitely didn't live up to expectation of 'marketing' and certainly wouldn't stay here again nor recommended to others. 1

  • Terrible stay. Very noisy and small rooms for the money and waiting for the lifts for ages.... I don’t recommend it. . 1
