Third time we have used jucy hotel. Compact, cozy, very handy to central city, friendly and helpful staff. We will not hesitate to use their facilities again.

Shocking! 1. The staff were the most miserable, ignorant, rude staff in any hotel/hostel i've every stayed in. You would walk in an out and they wouldn't so much as acknowledge you. 2. Is the place a hotel? i think it's confused! a hotel cleans its rooms daily generally and looks after its guests; jucy tend to take a more 'hostel' approach, i.e. Not cleaning the room/emptying our bin or changing towels for our 4 night stay. This is fine, but call yourself "jucy hostel" not "jucy hotel"!! 3. As others have said, we had a double room, with a single window and no air-con. It was 25 degrees in akl and the room was hot, dank, uncomfortable and dark. Not ideal, even given the price. I'm a frequent visitor to akl and am seeking a regular place to stay on visits, however, this is yet another hotel/hostel that i've stayed in and another that i would not return to. Sort it out jucy!.

Hi Tom. Thanks for your feedback. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your stay at JUCY hotel,.I must say I'm really surprised you found our staff "miserable". We normally hear nothing but great comments about all of staff. So its sad to hear you found them this way. I do understand the room you were given did not have a opening window. We do in and out ventilation but we realise on a hot summers day it can be a bit warm. There are 4 rooms out of 60 like this. We have a builder coming in next week to start the process of replacing these windows. Our hotel does run of a plus-plus model. This means that we offer our guests affordable rates and those guests that would like extras such as housekeeping can receive these by paying extra for only the services they require. I'm very sorry if this was not made clear to you at the time, and this is why your room would not have been cleaned during your stay with us. Once again thank you for your feedback, we appreciate all feedback (good or bad)

Convenient location (especially as i came to watch a show in the vector arena, which is just a short walk from here) and friendly staff. Ensuite double room was good and the shower was excellent.

I felt boxed in. There was only 1 window in the room and you can't even open it. No air conditioning so inadequate ventilation in the room. There's a fan but that didn't help. I ended up opening the door as the hallway has air conditioning which meant no privacy. I do not recommend staying at jucy hotel. Very disappointing.

Value for money at the $55 per night we payed clean and great staff but very small non opening window made the room very much like a box very hot ok to sleep in but thats all i would recomend to younger people but i wouldn't stay there again.

Handy for vector arena but i will not stay there again. Room smelled of urine, coffee cup & a paper bbox containing coffee & tea were stained. Noisy at night.

Excellent place for the price i paid, maybe not so good for the normal rate. Room was clean and tidy, but a small fridge would be welcomed and a more comfy seat rather than a hard chair would make tv watching more enjoyable - but having said that the hdtv was awesome. Shame about the first five hours being spent to waterblasters cleaning the street out across for the room, but i can't blame jucy for that. I would stay here again though.
