We had a wonderful stay. Front office staff were particularly friendly. Was a bit disappointing the housekeepers came to our room 4 times before we checked out, but the front office staff were very apologetic and wiped our minibar cost for the trouble. We would love to stay here again.

We (my partner and 7 year old son) really enjoyed our 3 nights. My son had injured his foot in rotorua and we had already planned markets, zoo and rainbows end outings. The staff allowed us to use the hotel wheelchair so my son did not miss out and had an enjoyable time. This was awesome!! the staff were really helpful and cheerful. Our room was on the 4th floor and was lovely and comfortable and yay for the free parking :).

Another good stay:) over all can't say bad about this hotel but prefer rooms away from entrance end as this is where the fitness room and guest laundry are. Rooms 1032 and 2032 i think. The first is next to the fiitness room so you hear the treadmill and get door noise. .

Enjoyed our one night stay - but directions need to be clearer for people out of the area. You have to turn into the hospital to find the hotel, but they don't tell you that! breakfast only average for the price. Staff great.

Really enjoyed our stay, was one of the better places we have booked. Loved the free parking and great location. Rooms were fantastic and plenty big enough. The staff were really helpful and very friendly always. Big thumbs up guys we will definitely be back! thanks travelbug for an awesome mystery deal!.

Have stayed at this hotel before ( several times) but this time chanced a "secret " deal suspecting it was here. Great as usual! only very slight downer was room opposite guest laundry door was a bit noisy at times but only early evening. Perhaps given this room as it was a deal? staff, hotel, room and outside ares all really well presented as usual. Would prefer smoking area to be away from entrance though as its not very comfortable to approach the doors past people sitting smoking! wont stop us coming back though - no where is absolutely perfect after all! the hotel is so easy to access from the motorway and has a great location for the city by train or bus (we had to use bus on this trip as there was a problem on the line with trains) but it was just as easy and we decided to "do" newmarket instead of queen street which was a nice change.

Stayed at novotel as part of a mystery deal and were very pleased with venue, staff, location & free parking. My negatives are the cost to dine at the restaurant (too expensive for our family so we dined else where), and having the drink/food in your room to help yourself too (pay at checkout) was a nuisance when you spend half the night trying to stop your young kids from opening the items because they were over priced. Apart from those minor negatives we are happy to recommend novotel to others and would stay again. Thanks travelbug for a good mystery deal!!!!.

Ok but getting bored of this hotel. Disgusting entrance smells of smokes littered with smoke butts, pretty disappointing. One employee took it upon themselves to remove some property of ours out of our fridge. Mistake but still was nice touch to get apology. Food blah..boring. We have used this a few times now and time for change. Ok for your first time though. What they dont tell you is if you need to park and the hotel car park is full that you can park down where it says hotel conferencing. Not well promolgated.

As a 100% non-smoking hotel we appreciate that our guests have to be outside the premises when smoking, and take special care of the cleanliness of these areas. Keeping a clean and welcoming entrance is important to us, and I am disappointed to read that we have not achieved this in this instance. Our complimentary parking works on a self-parking basis, however you should require assistance in the future please contact our Reception team when you arrive at the hotel, and we will be happy to provide you with valet service. Comfortable room. Great location with train station 5mins walk away and 3 stops to CBD. Staff very helpful and friendly and responded promptly to requests ... however would have been better not to need to request for room safe to be fixed, paper to be delivered, new swipe card for gym access, and for housekeeper to remove dirty tray that sat outside gym door for 3 consecutive days.
