  • Loved camping 4 nights in our camper van at cote jardin. It's a basic campsite, beautiful, lovely river and bush, but not at all far from town. Very good pizza just down the road at passage rock winery. . 5

  • We stayed for 2 nights and rested so well it felt like we had been to another land and time. The cabin and gypsy caravan were delightful and comfortable. We would happily return. . 5

  • We stayed for 2 nights, january 15th/16th. Lovely peaceful surrounds in bush setting, with great decking :) downside was that our accommodation, the 'shed', although roomy, did not appear to be cleaned after previous occupiers. The most disappointing aspect was the extremely uncomfortable aged bed. The linen smelt and looked unclean with the double mattress was torn and badly marked. The mattress cover was badly soiled and not fit for sleeping on! continually rolling into the middle from both sides unfortunately made for sleepless nights :( could definitely do with new inside rubbish tin and frying pan and wine glasses would be a nice addition. Overall wouldn't recommend due to facilities and is not 'good value for money'. Such a shame we had this experience on our first visit to the island. 1

  • A truly beautiful, peaceful and wondrous place to stay. Our family sized tent had all the space in the world so we were so happy to not have to live tent peg to tent peg ! fantastic value for money. The bird and chicken life is exceptional. The trees and plant life is very pretty. The stream a great source of adventure for the small and not so small. We loved 'discovering' the spaceship on one of our walks and couldn't wait to show it off to others. People at the camp were so friendly and the campfire on the last night was like a united nations assembly! the rustic side of this campground is good for the soul! we loved it and will sing its praises from here on in!. 5

  • Our host ben couldn't have been more helpful and kind, plus the gypsy caravan was a fun experience - best of all - those chickens!!! & the ufo - oh and the gallettes (yum), the honey we took home is divine - not much left now and its only been a few days. Will be back again definitely :) lesley parker - jan 14, 2014 (stayed 7&8th jan 2014). 5

  • Definitely recommend this place! especially if you would like to bring your dog camping too. We brought our 16 month old lab x and she had fields upon fields of long grass to explore, as well as a fresh water creek about a 2 minute walk from our tent. Well situated off the road, lovely owners and very private. Found a site at the end of the campground and we had no neighbours or noise from other families. We loved it and the dog had a blast - slept like a puppy every night! only thing to be aware of is the chickens - if your dog loves chasing them it's best to keep them tethered until you get to the fields. The chickens aren't afraid of the dogs. Will definitely be returning for another relaxing getaway! thanks guys :). 5

  • Great place to enjoy auckland's best tropical island, away from the hustle and bustle. I loved it. It was truely my cuppa tea. We pitched our tent and rented the self contained unit & it worked wonders as a combo for our family of four, together with our friends who also pitched their tent. If you like getting down to earth surrounded by native bush and waking to the sound of a rooster early in the morning. You'll love it here. The owner was so kind. I will be back again. 5
