Tucked into the hills, within walking distance of the beautiful village of Akaroa, the Lodge is your balcony seat for one of the best views in New Zealand, looking straight across the world-famous harbour below. Set amid the green lawns and mature trees of our 50-acre estate, and offering absolute peace and privacy, Mount Vernon is an oasis of calm in an increasingly-hurried world. It's the perfect place to escape – yet it's located only an hour's drive (or short helicopter flight) from Christchurch International Airport.

Mount Vernon offers a range of characterful accommodation for up to 50 guests, as well as a fully-equipped function and conference room which caters for up to 100. From the roaring log-fire of the Lodge's communal lounge to the romantic seclusion of our cottages for two, we have the right space for every occasion. We are happy to organise catering by top local chefs, or guests may prefer to make use of the various self-catering facilities on-site, including a full commercial kitchen. Like to know more?
