Room was very tired with uncomfortable bed and very poor bedding. Very basic and aged accomodation. On the upside the staff were friendly and the room was clean. I will not be staying here again. 1MURRAY HICKS - Sep 1, 2011 Travelbug verified review

Room was tidy & clean, but had a very noisy fan in the bathroom which came on when you turned on the light. Also booked from the travelbug site which promised a discount that did not apply when I processed the booking, even though I called & spoke to someone on the desk to confirm that it should. Any discounted rates available should be clearly advertised & staff made aware which dates they cover. Food was good & staff were friendly but sadly the overall experience was tarnished by the extra cost.

We are sorry that you feel your stay has been tarnished by the extra cost but all the discounted rates come up clearly in orange on the daily rate tarriffs displayed which means you have not chosen one of the dates that the discount is applied to. Before you confirm your booking the rate that you are confirming is clearly stated therefore there would not have been any additional costs other than what you had booked. There also has obivously been some miscommunication between yourself and our staff which we do apologise for.

I have stayed at this hotel before, for work, though not for some time. I chose it because it was within walking distance of my professional development venue and it is quite pleasant surroundings. This is how I found it to be. Convenient, quiet, pleasant. The room was a good price. I had requested a no smoking room, and defined that. (No whiff of cigarette smoke AT ALL). This is a no smoking room, but of course hotel staff cannot control what people do in their rooms, and the first room offered to me smelt like cigarette smoke. There was no fuss when I phoned to tell them at reception, and a very helpful and polite staff member came to help me move to another room immediately. Warm, cosy, welcoming. Yes, a good place to stay.

A great place to stay. I felt like a child in wonderland Architecture etc something we have not encountered before. Staff friendly and helpful. Discounted price with breakfast good value. Evening meals scrumptious. Den bar staff attentive and friendly Bedroom slippers a great touch Will stay again
