Historic 1870 Hotel with glorious views over Lyttelton harbour, just 15 minutes drive from central Christchurch via Dyers Pass Road.
Fully renovated to a very high standard, all 6 rooms feature 32 inch LCD TVs with four balcony rooms opening up to a wide verandah overlooking the harbour(shared bathroom facilities).
Please note, we do not allow children under the age of 12 in our guest rooms but we are happy to recommend a number of B&B's locally that do.
Garden Bar, large deck, pool table, juke box and restaurant open 11.00am till late daily, serving highly recommended gastro-pub fare at very reasonable prices. Winner 2012 Beef and Lamb awards.
Off street parking in our upper(6) or lower(40) car parks. No charges apply.

Thank you Holly and team for a very enjoyable stay. I was in Christchurch for business and wanted somewhere relaxed but still relatively close to the CBD. I dined on the deck in the evening, an excellent evening meal. Then a simple continental breakfast enjoyed on the balcony in the morning. I will be back!

This is a beautiful old hotel and the room and amenities are lovely. The staff are attentive and helpful. It can be noisy on the weekend though because the hotel is a popular venue on a Friday and Saturday night.

Hostel/backpacker accommodation. The shared toilet had no wash hand basin or mirror. The shower room doubled up as a laundry room and the second shower room had a mirror so high up I couldn't see the top of my head! The bed was comfortable with crisp,fresh linen. There were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room, and no gowns or slippers provided for sharing the toilet facilities along the corridor. We had been travelling around South Island for two weeks and had paid the same rate in motels and hotels that were offering far more. We certainly didn't expect to have to prepare our own breakfast in a "hotel"

Stephen, we are not a 5 star Hotel, we're not billed as that.(3 stars!) It's abundantly clear that there are shared facilities and no cooked breakfast. If you want to look at yourself, every room has a full length mirror but I only wish that you had opened your doors out onto one of the most gorgeous views you will not see anywhere else 20 minutes from central Christchurch. Take in 142 years of heritage beautifully restored, embrace the sea air, have a walk, enjoy our highly regarded cuisine. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your experience, which makes me sad because I am immensely proud of what we offer and frankly, I just don't think you got we're about.
