The Avenue Motor Lodge Christchurch welcomes all guests to enjoy a comfortable stay. Our spacious accommodation and convenient location provides travellers with exceptional affordability.
Only minutes from the central city and directly opposite the Southern Cross Hospital the Avenue Motel is a great option when travelling to the Garden City.

We are 15 min drive from the Christchurch International Airport and close to Christchurch Women's/Public Hospital and Hagley Park.
We also provide off-street parking and monitored safe parking for motorcycles and bicycles.
We can also provide a complimentary shuttle to train station and Casino shuttle service.

Had 2 night stay.clean but very noisy.only had shower over the bath which we couldnt get any hot waterout of (did report it) so we had to bath .my husband has had 2 knee replacements so found it very hard getting in the bath which resulted in him falling luckily he didnt do any major damage.ialso dont think it is very hygenic having to wash dishes in handbasin.

Web says warm and quiet. Warm yes quite no. Traffic noise stopped around 3.00am and restarted around 6.00am. Our young grand kids were up and down all night. Very tired and scratchy the next day. So we're we. Bloody nightmare. However they did find us another room in another one of their motels just down the road. So outlast night was lovely and quiet. .

Our apologies for your nightmare night, it was unusually noisy and busy for a Friday evening. We are happy that you were comfortable and the room was clean. Our staff where only too happy to assist in relocating your family to our sister property which bought better dreams. Once again our sincere apologies for noise… some things are out of our control.

Was cheap accommodation and quality reflected that. Weird kitchen arrangement. Had microwave but metal cooking containers so i guess suitable for heating frozen meals in a carton only. Interestly no other cooking thing to use the pot etc on so we were puzzled by them being there. No kitchen sink so had to wash cups in the bathroom. The fridge was very noisy so eventually turned it off to sleep. Our unit was right on the street and bealey avenue is busy so a lot of road noise as well may be better for the back units. The place was clean but tired ...large stain in the bathroom sink was a bit of a put off but a stain not dirty. Bed was fine, tv good. We would not stay there again because of the noise issues but others might be less bothered. .

Booked online as the web site made the place look inviting.What a disappointment.We booked a king executive suite.Got a small queen size bed.Found many cobwebs hanging from the ceiling,chipped paint on most of the cupboards,holes in the walls and doors,very outdated kitchen,shower had no extractor fan and after taking a shower the whole place had steamed up.Found an ugly stain in the middle of the bedspread.All in all an uncomfortable and unpleasant stay.We won't be back.

Fair for the money. Was dissapointed that kitchen fascilities didn't include a sink. When we fried some steak we had no where to clean the pan etc. We found dish liquid next to the bathroom/toilet sink the following day so thats I guess where they cleaned our cups etc (yuck). We never saw the pan again for the rest of our stay. Will pay a bit more next time and make sure I get a kitchen sink.

Pubic hair and mould in the shower/bath. An unidetified white crusty stain on the headboard. Pretty sure I stepped off the street and into the 1980's. Our tap was dripping in the sink in the bathroom and the sink was also blocked. If I hadn't have gotten up for a midnight toilet stop, we would have had a flooded bathroom! Bugger all milk/teabags etc supplied for 7 people. We had to buy our own. The owner was very welcoming and friendly though. Update the rooms and clean it up and I would maybe consider staying there again.

We booked for 4 nights intending to have a good time in Chch. The motel is very well situated as far as restaurants are concerned. A few problems though. One can hear other doors slam in the night, the road passing the front is very busy. Those things were still ok, but the bathroom needs serious attention. One can't get hot water from the shower and the bath has lost some enamel making it look grubby. We stayed one night and booked out the next morning. Front desk was actually quite helpfull, but advised us that we could not get a refund from them because they have not been paid by Travelbug for our stay yet. We took this up with TB on our return just to find out that we have to arrange our refund ourselves. TB did send an e-mail to AML, but we are still waiting for their response. I presume you get what you pay for, but I would suggest that if you are expecting to have a good nights rest and a hot shower when you get back from your day sightseeing that you choose a more expensive acc
