Kakapo Lodge Backpackers YHA is a short 2 min walk to the hanmer springs thermal and village centre. Kakapo lodge sleeps 50 in ensuite, twins, doubles, and dorm rooms. Fully equipped kitchen, BBQ area,
Relaxing inside the hostel is easy during winter with a log fire and under-floor heating as well as extra duvets and blankets on request. Cook up a storm in our large communal kitchen and dining room.
Enjoy your time outside up on the sunny decks or down in the peaceful garden and BBQ area, with lots of mountain views from all angles.
Downstairs are the computer terminals which offer internet as well as a place to upload all of your great holiday snaps. WiFi is available throughout the hostel.
If you found you've done everything in Hanmer that you came to do then come back to the lodge and relax with a great range of DVD's to watch and books to read or even have a game of foosball.
