Kaikoura's Gateway Motor Lodge is the closest Motel complex to the charming seaside town of Kaikoura, the busy hub of eco-tourism ventures and a thriving rural community.
Whether you are a visitor, planning on staying in Kaikoura for a day or two or three, or planning a Kaikoura conference with a difference Kaikoura Gateway Motor Lodge will meet all of your needs with 20 self-contained units from studio to two bedroom units. Our complex is only five years old and is modern "European design", eleven units have large corner spa baths and 12 units have air-conditioning. All units have cooking facilities and are double glazed, two guest laundries are available and Highspeed Wireless Internet is available in all rooms. We have Sky TV, free onsite parking and we are rated four star plus by Qualmark.
There is also a solar-heated swimming pool, outdoor spa pool, sauna and barbecue, and a playground is adjacent to the Motor Lodge.

We enjoyed our stay the rooms were clean and exactly as advertised. The only complaint we had was the parking around the back was hard to use when the motel was full.

Stayed for a couple of nights over easter, clean large room, facilities all great. Shame the spa advertsied wasn't full. The outdoor pool looked inviting and very clean but the weather just wasn't hot enough for me. Word of warning the shower was very strong and in a wet floor area it was very dangerous on the tiles when wet. Great proximity to town but again take care after dark as steep down hill there and up hill back - not far - but far enough when no lighting and either through the reserve area or via the main road its an isolated track... I (female)wouldn't like to walk on my own. (the main road pedestrian route takes you on a wee track beside the main road up over the hill, there is shubbery / trees and no lighting.).

Great place to stay . Really friendly staff and really close to the town . Would definitely stay there agan the next time we are in kaikoura. Would recommend it to anyone .

Stayed here last week for a night. Friendly, efficient check in. Room very clean and well appointed. Almost a full size fridge which I am sure would be ideal for longer stays or for families. Appreciated the pump soap which is preferable over bar soap. Spa bath was fab. Had a good sleep. Absolutely no complaints and would most definitely stay again. Cheers.
