The Godley Resort Hotel is in the village centre of Lake Tekapo, offering panoramic views of this high glacial lake and surrounding mountains, and just a short walk to the Church of the Good Shepherd.

Not worth spending $80 for, even if we were upgraded to the standard room. Very creaky building, doubt it passes eqc standards. Very very dated and old room with a below standard bathroom (dirty and moldy). Noisy in the morning from all the tour busses, sleep was very difficult because of this and even on the second story people walking would wake you.

I loved it! only booked in for a cheap room but got upgraded upon arrival. Lovely reception ladies!!! room was very clean but would of liked atleast a microwave in the room and the water pressure wasnt the best but could have been from the snow? overall loved it and will stay again :).

It's easy to access,near the HW8.Budget Room, cheap and worth it! Although it's an old house,it offer everything you need. Also near the lake and the famous church. Nice place to stay.

It was cheap - but room was very dated, sliding door was a mission to open and shut. - No SHOWER!!! HWC was set on near boiling so I almost got scalded. Good points - It was clean.

Booking process easy and simple to use. I know it was a very sharp rate at $85 but the room was a little "aged" and didn't even have a proper shower - just a rubber hose attachment to the bath taps! I'd be war of booking such a room at the Godley again!

Upgraded to the lake view room. Disappointed, very small, booked for three but only two towels provided. Too late to ask when last one out the shower at 10.30! Tired/dated looking room - tried to update with furnishings. Bottom level beside the stairs, hear walking up and down to top level and overhead across creaky bedroom floor. Little sleep.......
