Christchurch accommodation

Travellers should be aware that, following a major earthquake on February the 22nd, parts of Christchurch's city centre remain inaccessible. While accommodation is very limited in the central city, much of Christchurch is open for business. A range of accommodation is still on offer from budget backpackers to urban apartments and quality motels outside of the CBD. The city also remains a gateway to the scenic areas of the South Island.
