  • Staff were awful, it was as if i was inconveniencing the staff just checking in. The room was not clean- especially the lounge, two of the four light bulbs were blown, the bed and bedding were very old and well worn. Would i ever go again- absolutely not. To add insult to injury, i got on "secret sale"- then viewing the calais website, found i could have saved more than $20 by not using travelbug. Ugh. Would not recommend- will not use travel bug again either!. 1

  • Hi There The receptionist who you dealt with rung me after seeing this review before I did. The receptionist said when you came in she said hello and asked how you were and tried to engage in conversation with you but you didn't answer and instead just said your name and started yelling at your child, so she just carried on with the checkin process as she felt under the circumstances, you would prefer to get the checkin process over with as fast and efficient as possible. I am sorry if she did miss read the situation. The secret sale was a one bedroom apartment for $119 for 3 people. If you booked this on our site it would have been $136 with our discount. (Usually $170 when not on special) The housekeeping staff replace the lights as soon as they see they need replacing. We just received new linen, I will go through all linen and make sure the older ones are thrown out. Sorry that your stay with us did not meet your expectations.

  • A kind of thumbs up but could be a thumbs down, yes it was clean a comfortable however we ran out of hot water after 1 bath, no electric blankets and very dark rooms with only some of the low wattage lighting working. I also felt that the receptionists could do with a smile they both appeared to dislike their jobs which made us feel like an inconvenience. At the end of the day we got what we paid for. 5

  • Stayed in aptmnt 210. Nice spot but dark on even a reasonable day due to orientation and adjoining apartments lights during the day beginning of june. Biggest issue ...... 1 x tiny wall mounted fan hater doesn't cut it. We sat in our jackets trying to stay warm... Not good enough at that price. No elect blankets either... Don't normally use them but was that damn cold! would look elsewhere next time. 1

  • Good value and a pleasant apartment. A little hemmed in by other hotels/apartments, so the sun takes a while to hit the balcony in the mornings, which may suit late risers, and the location more than compensates. Great to have a such an ideally placed base to return to during the day in between swimming, climbing the Mount etc. No air-con but a good sized standing fan served the purpose instead. I would rather pay a fraction less at a place like this and not have a spa bath (I don't get the appeal, at least in a standard-sized bath), but everyone else seems to like them... Sound-proofing between apartments seemed especially good 5

  • Basic but nice, clean tidy, good bed all the facilities we needed, next time would go "upgraded" not us on the ground floor, parking is tight so dont bring the american car, great w/e away, thanks 5

  • Nice apartment. Very roomy and clean. TV in bedroom not great. Dishwasher bit smelly cos nothing to prop it open with when not in use and no dishwasher powder. Remember to ask for pool vouchers when checking in as reception closes at 6 I think and we missed out. Great sized apartment for a family and great value too. 5

  • The unit was very dark inside and very noisy from adjoining carpark and next door rooms,sound travelled right through the walls.The paper was not delivered as requested and some maintenance required, eg door handle ready to fall off, broken hook on door, damaged window frame, difficult to lock. 1
