  • Copthorne central reservations had not made the hotel aware of my travelbug booking because (according to the front desk staff) their central reservations dept was not open through the whole of the easter weekend...yes really ! the front desk staff provided a good standard of customer service to resolve the problem. As a form of apology i received a room upgrade. The room was fine but i would echo the previous comments about the poor tv reception.. 1

  • Very average, tv reception was terrible, very fuzzy tv1 or tv2 this was not addressed by main desk, despite being asked i was told all tvs were having bad reception that long weekend. Noisy ventilation ducting ran through our bathroom waking us up at 6a.m also on and off all day told main desk , they said that shouldn't happen but no follow up ! inadequate lighting one corner complete darkness. The best thing was the immaculate housekeeping ! lovely restaurant staff !! we have always loved this hotel have stayed in 4 times, its close to town and just park and relax, but this time was not enjoyable!!. 5

  • Room with lake view was situated on the ground floor near walking track. Very limited views. Unsecure door to corridor a concern. Directions to room did not include a lift so bags had to be carried down stairs - not suitable for anyone with a disability. Room was clean, but very small for 4.5 star rating. Bonus was a good selection for breakfast. 1

  • Pretty unimpressed, dark and dingy room, way too hot, had to walk through the middle of the restaurant to get to my room dodging waitresses delivering food, and to top it off the tv didn't work and they couldn't / wouldn't sort it out for me. . 1

  • Worst stay in the entire trip!! being a 4.5 star i expected most but we were greatly disappointed.we booked 2 rooms out of which 1 wasn't ready on time and the other was a smelly damp one. Asked for a change manager was rude but thankfully the other front office staff was helpfull. I'm sure back packers will be heaps better!!. 1

  • Was value for money and a fair price, was disappointed with the restaurant evening meal, the time it took considering there was only 2 of us in there, we asked for very very well done steak to have it arrive still running, wasnt worth sending back so ate the vegetables and went into town for a better meal, other wise the stay was excellent. . 5

  • We enjoyed our stay. The bed was confortable. The distqance to walk t the shops was easy. 5 minutes. Secure parking underneath the building was good. The staff were polite and friendly. We would stay there again. Travel bugs sedrvice was excellent even when we messed up the dates. These were altered with no extra charge and they were gracious. 5

  • DON'T GO!!! I have never stayed in such a crappy hotel in my life. Lakefront - what lake? We were stuck in the bowels of the hotel, the rooms were dirty, paint all chipped around the room, the television only worked when it wanted to. Car park was being renovated, so hardly any spaces to park, good job my husband drives for a living otherwise we wouldn't have got into any of the spaces. Definate thumbs down from us and I am now very wary of using your 'sshhh' promotions. I will still use you but not the 'shhh' thing I rather know where I am going then I can make an informed decision xx 1

  • Our stay was quite good, not only for the convenient location of the hotel, but also for the excellent view to the lake we had from our. Room. I agree that a 4* hotel should be better maintained, However we did not spend much time in the hotel, thoug we extended our stay two more days.. You cannot expect much more for the rate, In general acceptable. 5

  • Pretty average for a 4 star hotel,beds all good pillows not so good.as 4 paying extra 2 park at hotel a bit lame as u would think it would be included in the price. good size room but needed better location of some of the plugs,also decor a bit drab broken light shade etc.would not be in to much of a rush to stay again. 5

  • Had a great stay at the Copthorne, best deal out all the places we stayed, great breakfast, front of desk staff were pleasant enough, restaurant staff were very friendly. Spa a pain as had to book time so we didnt use it. Car park price a bit steep however at least our car was of the road. Would stay again at the special price. Perfect position to town. More positives than negatives. 5

  • Booked a superior lake view room (valued at $350 a night) and got a damp musty smelling room that looked at the house across the road. Complained and got shifted to a room with a view of the lake but didnt fine staff particularly helpful or friendly. I would never stay there again. 5

  • We were very disappointed with our stay. We booked the Queenstown Value Deal which states a King Size Bed and instead received two very soft and uncomfortable doubles (our feet hung over the edge, we kept rolling into the middle and I got a sore back). The walls are paper thin. The TV was about 20 years old and had poor reception. Our first night there was a 1am fire alarm - we stood in the cold for 15 minutes and saw NO staff members. There never seemed to be enough staff and other guests' half-eaten room service trays lay in the hallway for up to 8 hours at a time. I would never recommend this place to anyone. 1
