  • Beautiful setting, welcomed with a smile, canape's and sat down to some great conversation and wine. We had the Sav room and it was stunning and very big! Waking up to crisp mornings, bunnys hopping around and tranquility was exactly what we were after and better than we had hoped. Breakfasts were great and nice choices- all freshly made for you. Nicely placed out of town, but an easy quick ride in. Wine tours will pick you up too. Couldnt recommend Esk Valley Lodge enough! 5

We were the only couple in the b&b that night and were very well looked after by the owners, who welcomed us with a glass of wine made from the vines next to the house. particularly liked the eclectic book collection. Wish we could have stayed longer than one night to properly explore the area. 5

  • Our hosts Eileen and Jess made our stay in Napier unforgettable! The brekkie was absolutely fantastic, with fresh fruits, home made jam, freshly made omelets or pancakes! Unfortunately it was raining non-stop during our stay and didn't have the chance to explore the area+ vineyard as much as we would have liked. So we spent a fair bit of time at the Lodge in front of the fireplace enjoying the Esk Valley Sauvingon Blanc. 5

  • This was our booking to visit Napier and although it's a little way out of town we were so glad we chose to stay with Jes and Eileen who were excellent hosts. The 5pm "sundowners" were great and was really nice to meet with the other guests and to sample the Esk Valley Lodge Sauvignon Blanc! The room was super, with a fantastic view over the vinyard. This is a high quality offering and one of the highlights of our NZ tour. 5

  • This is a stunning place with a huge garden surrounded by vineyards. The rooms are large, clean and well decorated. We were welcomed by the host with nibbles and wine like friends and not like paying guests. They provided us with all kind of information even for our way back home. I especially loved the breakfast with all kind of hot and cold food, freshly picked out of the garden. It was a fantastic stay and we will definitely come back ;-)) 5

Esk Valley Lodge
  • It is a great place. The landlords are absolutely charming (and their dog too). The place is quiet and peaceful with lovely surrounds. It is a bit far from Napier but that is not a problem at all. On the contrary permits you lovely morning awakenings (specially if you awake early). You could spend the whole day watching grapes from the balcony, but it is better to go downstairs in order to have the delicious breakfasts they make. Only a tip, if you take a wine tour around Napier and Hastings take your time before return to the lodge. Better if someone drives you back. 5
