Arriving just before 2pm after the long drive from Auckland we were greeted by a friendly man at reception who checked us in promptly and we were so grateful to relax in our unit with a cup of tea. I had twisted both my knees on new year's day so I was grateful to the motel having all their units on ground level. Our room was serviced promptly on both days we stayed. I recently stayed at Frimley Lodge for 3 nights. My husband and I had a very comfortable stay although when I made the booking I did ask to be advised if our unit would have kitchen facilities and didn't hear back. When we arrived we had been reserved a studio unit with no kitchen facilities. We were upgraded to a unit with kitchen facilities for 2 nights of our 3 x night stay at an extra cost of $10.00 per night. The units are very clean and the motel is situated within walkiing distance of Stortford Lodge Corner. The management are very friendly and helpful and their swimming pool is terrific. It was 29 deg. on our first day and very hot. The motel is on a busy road and there are a lot of trucks going past the front of the property so the traffic can be a bit noisy. 5Susan Robertson - Jan 18, 2010 Travelbug verified review

This was a small but clean and tidy place to stay. Not really outstanding, the lady at reception was nice, definately a good place to stay overnight, but kinda stink there's no microwave in the smaller studio. At another cheaper hotel in hastings, it was just as nice and you get a complimentary drink and a bigger room.
