Beautiful property, very well appointed, except the reception staff have a real attitude problem. We were left waiting for ages to check in, because the receptionist kept answering the phone, then there was confusion over our booking which seemed to make the whole think even more unworkable, a nightmare. On checkout we were halfway through checking out when the clerk completely left us to go and deal with a Hilton VIP, and someone else had to come and check us out. Was unable to stay due to a family emergency 2 days prior to booking, unable to cancel the room due to this travel site not declaring prior to payment that a 100% cancelation fee counted aaginst the booking, tried unsuccessfully to transfer the room to someone else. Website says any hassles deal with the hotel, hotel says deal with website. We stayed in the one-bedroom apartment for 5 nights. Awesome apartment with every thing included!!! even the floor of the bathroom was warm. The "Delux Room" is what we booked and paid for on the travelbug site the picture is a room with a king size bed and lounge suit (perfect considering we had friends staying in the hotel too, so they could visit in our room for a few drinks) However the picture is infact of a room the hilton call the "Relaxation Suite" the Delux room only has a king single bed no lounge suits. This is false advertising on Travelbugs part and is still incorrect on their site thus far. Very disappointed as we did not get the room that we thought we had booked. As I say, very clearly false advertising, picture of a flash room at a cheaper room rate, then when you get to the hotel they say you booked the Delux room and thats what you get! Not impressed. Excellent service- the staff are great and rooms spacious and well appointed. Great to be so close to Debretts and restaurant was wonderful. Lovely hotel good sized rooms with views. Excellent restaurant and service. Only one issue with the hotel and that is the number of heavy doors ( we had 4 ) which you had to go through to access the room.
