  • Property is tired and in need of tlc. Shower lacked pressure . Room was clean but we were disappointed with the private hot pool. Resembled an animal trough so we gave that a miss. The termal pool was filthy with scum and body hair and what ever else. Couldn't wait to get into a shower to clean off once we found what we were in. Sadly the shower wasn't good enough either. Termal pool needs filtering and the shower needs the water restrictors removed. 1

  • Had a fantastic stay and was so pleased with the 1 bedroom we stayed in there was so much room, we were very surprised. I loved that we could borrow one of your dvd players so we could be entertained while kids were sleeping. We absolutely loved the pool and wished we had used it earlier in our stay. We will certainly be back to stay at your motel when we are next in rotorua. Thanks for making our stay so pleasant. 5

  • Thank you so much great stay clean room fantastic rhose and ian very clean, comfy beds,only trouble we had was stove elements but used the grill instead ,nice new bbq clean pool had everything you could ask for did not hear road noise loads of privacy close to everything shops supermarkets restaurants pubs etc hells delivers there, including isite was close so made easy to pic up tickets to paradise valley close to attractions and was fantastic to look at stars in nice large fast filling hot tub fantastic a++++ . 5

  • We had a wonderful time here, and intend to come back. Loved the large pool and our private one. Two families of us gathered there, the 2 year old frolicked in the private pool while us adults sat around enjoying ourselves. Clean, friendly service, very close to the shops and park. Highly recommend. 5

  • We turned up earlier than checkin as we needed to drop our belongings and get ready for a big event Raggamuffin - the staff was welcoming and very happy to accommodate to our needs. The lady cleaning our room was most friendly and warm. Good value for money here. Not a flash place but beautifully clean and that's what matters. Keep it up, we'll be back. :D 5

  • For a family of 6 it is hard to find accommodation under $200 per night. Kuirau was both economical, the room was large and had everything a family needed. Our kids loved the pool and we were glad the staff agreed to allow us in there after the time it was meant to close. . 5

  • Quite rewarding.We booked a Family 2 bedroom apartment for 5person costing 156, there're 2 beds in each room and one in the lodge. The mineral pool is quite relaxing and we're the only ones going there, ha ha. so it feels quite private though it's share by all in motel. The outdoor swimming pool is quite full of kids so we just ignore.... There was firework on city event centre and we have brilliant view from balcony. Awesome.... PS: it's almost on the main street of the rotorua city, but I sleep quite well at night. Next time may try the rooms with private pool.... 5

  • There was an ant infestation in room and ended up having to throw some food away. Quite gross when you want to make toast in the morning, Although man at desk said he would spray, it needs a professional. Raid will only kill what is there not the actual nest. At night, the single bed by the wall heater made a difficult sleep for our son as it banged quite a few times scaring the heck out of him and he ended up coming into our bed. We were also itchy in the bed. Overall cleanliness of room was really not the greatest. Hairs and other things that were off putting. We had really looked forward to staying and enjoying a night away with our own private hot tub and patio. But again another disapointment. It was surprising to find out that how most places have upgraded the way the thermal water goes thru. This place has not, and the hot tub was the reason we got the room. That became a no go as my son loves to go under water and could not due to the health warning of catching disease like menigitis if you are unwell or put your head under water. For something we were looking forward to, it was a real let down. 1

  • Hi Stephen,We are sorry you did not enjoy your stay at our motel.Ants are a real pain and they do appear if food is left out overnight which seems as though you did.We have had no complaints about ants from that room and we have had people in straight after you.As for the hairs and other things I wish you had come to the office and told us as we think our cleaners are doing a great job but we need people to show us if the are not.As for you being itchy in bed maybe your skin did not agree with the soap powder we use in our laundry and we are sorry for that.Our hot tubs are great as we are told so often but having thermal does have its drawbacks and one is do not put your head under the water. That is the advice that has been issued by the Health Dept and we always let our customers know.Your son could of had a swim in the heated outdoor pool which is safe to put his head under not in a 10in mineral pool.Once again we are sorry you did not enjoy your stay and we would of appriciated you coming to tell us your complaints.   • The reality was every bit as good as the photos. Great location. Friendly and helpful staff. A shame we had a power cut, followed by one unit resident who left their hot tub hot water running which, in turn meant no hot water for our hot tub on our second (and last) night. Not the fault of the management though, just bad luck for us. We would stay there again. 5

  • After much hunting for an affordable motel for a family of 5 we discovered this one. Big thumbs up for having rates displayed for 4ppl (most motel rates displayed are for 2ppl which jump up when you add 3 kids!) Location was awesome & pool was excellent. Room was well equiped, clean, tidy & very comfortable - if a little tired in places - Happy with that though as an upgrade will porbably mean a rates increase:-) 5

  • We enjoyed our stay here. The rooms were clean and tidy, the kitchen was well equipped and the pool was great. We also liked the location - short walk to town so no worries about parking. The owners were very friendly and helpful. A couple of minor things could be improved. The seating in the unit is not great, dinning furniture is quite old and really needs to be replaced, and there is no place to sit and watch TV except on the beds but the TV is really too low (would be better if it was mounted higher). But on the whole it was great. We would stay there again. 5

  • Awesome - best place we have stayed with the kids (including some 5 star motels). Was ACTUALLY everything they said (unbelievable)! Friendly, easy to get to, close to town but not noisy, have recommended to family and would stay again. Pools were definitely the attraction and hot tub was enjoyed by us all. 5

  • I will travel miles for a spa pool and big bed - this place had both. Got to wallow in the mineral pool, AND then sank into the spa pool - bliss! Hosts were very helpful and accommodating. Room was perfect for myself, sister and mum. Hard to beat this place, will be back! 5

  • The room was spacious with an awesome sized bathroom and shower. Well stocked huge kitchenette. Everything was spotlessly clean including the thermal pools that were icing on the cake!! Location brilliant, late check out no problem. For more money we stayed in a main stream chain hotel in Rotorua city the night before and Kuirau Park was IN EVERY WAY SUPERIOR!!   • We booked here based on everyone else's good feedback and can confirm that it a great place to stay. Very clean and tidy, comfortable beds, full kitchen, AND incredibly friendly and helpful hosts. Location is handy and cost is reasonable. We only stayed two nights but next time, we will make a week of it. 5

  • Great value for money, truely enjoyed the private courtyard with our own personal hot tub (totally recommend room 23). Good location too. Owner was friendly and accommodating. Bathrooms cleaned to a good standard, and rooms tidied nicely - just be prepared to do your own dishes. Will be happily returning in the future 5

  • Very pleasant stay, the room ahd everythng we needed.Clean and roomy, very comfy bed and lovely sheets. Handy walking distance to town. Our only critisicm was the traffic noise, but then we didn;t realise it was on busy road. Appart from that we would recommend as an overnight stay at a reasonable price. 5

  • The SNUG,was our room for 2 nights,SNUG,is snug not that which we stayed in.Bed,way to hard,shower,absolutely no pressure as written in notice on the wall,T.v.twisted bad neck trying too relax and watch,tooo high on wall and too small to watch from lying down,early morning management opening our door with their key and without knocking,should have bolt lock on inside of door for intruders,directions too market on the sunday,didn't exsist,house keeping,no such thing,coffee and tea not replenished,from previous customer,also management notice says,rooms will be serviced before 1:pm,tnis was not the case,had to ask for service,was told they had been busy,not our problem,the hot pools, distance too town was of great help for my disabilty.I will return again too see what has improved and try too improve my stay in the near future.Heather Hammond,March 2011. 1

  • Hello Heather You chose to book online a "small compact studio with LCD TV on wall" and paid $75 night for 2. You stayed in a room matching the description of your choice. We are glad that the bad neck you arrived with considerably improved while using our fabulous hot pools. You have given us thumbs down and a rating normally reserved for terrible stays, for subjective and small annoyances. EG you were told that the Sunday market doesn't always operate, the bed is hotel standard and not saggy, the TV is a perfect height on the wall for watching TV in bed, we do not promise mains pressure showers etc, etc.We feel if your stay was as bad as your rating given us you would actually be loathe to return, and we are sure you will be happier staying somewhere else!

  • Had a great time at an excellent site. Close to town and dining out. Had visitors from overseas with us and they thoroughly enjoyed their stay. Booked for one night and decided to stay for two. No issues and very accomodating management. Lots of assistance when we were looking at places to visit. Would thoroughly recommend and no doubt revisit when we are next in Rotorua. Thanks guys. 5

  • We booked for five adults. I don't think the accomodation is suitable for five adults but maybe a couple with three children. We ended up with one on the floor. Air conditioning would be good. Also the appliances need to be upgraded more often. We have an investment property on Gold Coast in Oz and we would not get away with the crappy appliances we have seen in NZ. If you want international travellers you might have to update things a bit more often. Apart from that everything else was fine. 5
