  • We stayed in one room in the big house. No one else was there. Bed was comfortable, place was clean, kitchen and common spaces really big and kitchen has everything you need. Can imagine big groups staying in this house very comfortably and being able to make fun,big dinners. It was a cold, rainy night, and the managers had started the fire for us. There are very few choices in Makarora because it's so tiny, but this is a great option. 4

  • There were quite a few flying bugs in my room, but once I'd used the bug spray I had brought, I had a great night's sleep. The bed was very comfortable and it was quiet outside. The continental breakfast basket provided was very nice and it was lovely to eat out on the verandah with the mountain vista before us. 4

  • Not much interaction with our hosts, wifi is only good standing at your car, but overall it was a good stay, and a good rest after a long day on the road. Unique shower, comfortable beds. Would stay there again. 4

  • Hi and a sincere thankyou for your post ....we try and gauge whether our guests are "conversation friendly" or would like to keep to themselves after a big day on the road ....somtimes we get it spot on somtimes we dont.   • Our studio unit was clean, warm and well equiped. The bed was so comfortable and the electric blanket turned on for our arrival was a wonderful surprise. Our hostess was a lovely and very helpful lady. We stayed an extra night and we hope to return again soon. 4

  • Great place in the countryside.Made welcome.Only possible downfall is if you are disabled.etc.Most places had steps to them,Did not ntice any without steps apart from one which seemed to be a family unit.Other wise first class accomadation, excellent!! 5

  • Thanx for your feedback ....sorry about the rain cant do much about that BUT if you want somthing more substantial in the future we can offer you a room in THE HOMESTEAD LODGE which has full catering facils along with large lounge,sunroom and bbq area. Along with the Lodge accommodation we STILL cant control the weather ...sorry .....we do wish you enjoy the rest of your Holiday in the south !!!

  • What a nice place to stay! Great spacious room, with a high ceiling, comfy bed and very clean and fresh. Also well stocked with tea, coffee etc, fresh milk n juice, cereals, bread and jams and spreads. Sunny terrace with a lovely view towards the hills. Lovely friendly host Jenna. Would definitely recommend it to friends. 5

  • The self-contained studio was very comfortable, & very cosy once the heater got going. It's not very fancy but that suited us perfectly. At first we were disappointed because there wasn't a full kitchen, but we found the portable hotplates worked very well. 4
