Clean, comfortable and welcoming. A bit out of town with a suitcase on arrival but an enjoyable walk back into town without luggage and a lift back to the station from ian was appreciated. Would return. Hi Pauline, Thanks for the review. The issue of the method of payment is one that exists with several web sites. Having booked weeks in advance was told on arrival that the room we had book and paid for had been given to someone else. I think we should have been notified long before we arrived so we could have the opportunity to make other arrangements. Best motel of our 3000km trip around New Zealand. Great recommendations on what to see and do in Kaikoura. They upgraded our room to the unit overlooking the ocean just because that unit was available! Very spacious, immaculately clean. Good sized bathroom & plenty of toiletries and towels. Upon leaving, we mentioned we were heading up to Marlborough to try to sample some wines and they pointed out terrific vineyards to visit where we ended up buying quite a few bottles. Our family unit was clean and tidy, and exactly what we wanted. The hospitality was even better (stayed at 3 other motels on our SI trip and got little punnets of milk only - here we got a decent carton !)and Sue's recommendation for a restaurant was spot on. We enjoyed our stay - had a unit at the front so had a wonderful sea/mountain view. Owners were really friendly and room was clean and airy. The place is not very clean and most of all the shower pressure is so low that it is very annoying to take a shower. We actually check-in to the next door motel which is much pleasant with a proper shower. I would be good if they can give us any sort of compensation.
