  • Got a cheap deal to stay here the night and we too got upgraded for no extra cost. The room was great. The receptionist was really helpful as we had to work out public transport to mt smart for a concert. The only downside was the pizza - we too had a voucher and we were told we could get a pizza anytime as we weren't around for dinner. The chef was just really grumpy about it when we went in at 11am to have our pizza so we could get on the road, he was just not willing to help us out at all and even told us he didn't think the pizza deal was available on the weekend. It was a huge effort for him to turn the oven on, so in the end we just flagged it.. 5

  • i stayed here with my partner and friend through the treat me deal and we absolutely loved it! very friendly receptionists and bar staff. The pizza that was included in our deal was very yummy! they served it even we went to restaurant after kitchen closed. We definitely recommend the surrey hotel. . 5

  • My family and i had a super stay at the surrey! reception staff were the best i have dealt with and roslie at the bar was superb! we had a weekend away with a zoo trip organized and was made very comfortable and fun by staying at the surrey, not to mention the zoo was only 5 minutes away to get a full day in at the zoo. Will definitely return to the surrey and recommend their accommodation to all! thanks again guys!!!. 5

  • Old world charm, delightful desk staff, being renovated. Good parking availability even when there is a conference occurring there. Some attention to detail required re decor etc, but once problems were pointed out they were resolved - eg room internet and telephone did not operate - the latter was not working at all so i received free internet access so i could skype the people i needed to contact. Excellent! . 5

  • Hi. Satisfactory stay. We loved the surroundings and the seats on the landing were very handy especially to sit above poolside with a few wines. However we were really disappointed we found the hotel under refurbishment. Machinery the early hours of the morning and workers loud voices did not allow us a much needed sleep in. The bed was also extremely uncomfortable. Pleased we did not pay full price but did like the central location. We could be tempted to stay again after the renovations. Maybe. 1

  • The unit we had was across the road from the main hotel and so the hotel facilities were not really an easy option. The family unit we were given had two bedrooms, both good size and very comfortable, but as it was a family unit, only having two chairs at the very small table in a tiny kitchenette was a bit odd, there was nowhere to really sit together apart from the beds.this could just be the configuration of the room we had. Great place to stay if you just want somewhere to sleep, in a convenient location, also very neat and clean. 5

  • Hotel fairly old and could do with an update. Room adequate, but not very clean. There was a coffee stain on a bench which remained there for the entire time i stayed there (2 nights). There was a long brown hair in the shower cubicle which definitely was not mine. These two things made me wonder exactly how clean the rest of the room was!! the restaurant food (both breakfast and evening meals) were very very nice, my compliments to the chef. I would go back just for a meal, but certainly would not stay there again. 1

  • Overall this hotel was sufficient for our needs, in a great location and we got it at a cheap rate. But i struggle to see how it has a four star rating. The whole place is a bit run down and tired looking. Our family room had two good bedrooms but the kitchen area was tiny, with no windows and very limited utensils. Fridge was rusty. Bathroom extractor fan didn't work so everything got wet whenever anyone had a shower. No sky tv in unit so had to watch the rugby upstairs in restaurant with poor reception issues. We ate at the restaurant and the meals were fine. The wait staff and reception staff were all very nice. . 1

  • Well the rooms not particularly well cleaned as our 5 year old found used needles in the bedside drawers and when my husband took them to reception they were not really that worried and just apologized and threw them in the bin. However that aside the staff were lovely and breakfast was great. But overall thumbs down as the used needles are a real safety concern and I think they should have been a bit more worried. 1

  • We enjoyed our stay at the Quality Inn West End very much . We found the staff to be very helpful and friendly . The room was tidy and ideal for the 3 of us . It's nice and close to the CBD area with the bus / taxi right out front . I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again when next we come to Auckland. 5
