  • Excellent Meal on our last night at the STK Resturant and had a really good waiter, overall a good experiance but the last day before checking out the next morninig, room was not serviced we asked for it to be done and it was at about 4pm but not correctly, towels missing tissue not replaced. Would be happy to go back, but more care needs to be placed on room servicing. 5

  • Lovely stay, parking costs $22 or $30 valet which I hope they are now mentioning in their descriptions, buy have refunded this to us because we had a moan to management. Friendly staff except the check in staff (most important as first impressions count), they need customer service training and a smile, thumbs up over all, cheers to management. 5

  • Unfortunately i made an error booking room, & it turned out we didnt have a booking at all....but staff did not alert us to this until 6 HOURS after we had checked in! Even though after 2 hours they actually changed us to a better room after I enquired about the size of the room we were in. We then had to pack up and leave at 8pm. Terrible service. have since written to them but never received a reply. Shame. 1

  • Was very UN-impressed with the place. The advert says "Renovated rooms" which to my disgust didnt appear at all renovated. The bathroom tiles and bad decor looked and felt like I was in a SAW movie, there was mold on the roof and walls with paint missing etc. The room felt as if it was in the middle of a renovation if anything. I didn't feel very 'superior' in my 'king' room. 1

  • I was disappointed with my stay ar Rydges Auckland. The staff appeared to be disinterested when I checked in and they did not provide relevant information such as where I could park my car. The room itself look tired, paint was peeling off in the bathroom and one of the lightbulbs had to be replaced. Not what I was expecting for what I thought was a quality hotel chain. 1

  • Room was lovely but I must sy that the service on day of arrival and next day was very poor and our room was not serviced. I did complain and it was recified straight away and booking out the lady was very very helpful, wished she had of been on when we got there. The location is great and the hotel is lovley very handy to everything. 5

  • Booking was missleading booked a room with two beds and got a room with one resulting in our 3 year old son having to sleep in the same bed with us .upon arriving the concierge did there best to ignore us the parkins area was way too small a nightmare with kids .opend the fridge to make a cup of coffee to discover the milk was half full and rotten from the previous guests it then too 6 phone calls to get someone to answer the phone to get fresh milk ,the room wasnt that clean at all, generally very disapointed it spolied or weekend away really.Sorry guys have to be honest wouldnt recommend it from this experience. 1

  • We booked this through the secret sale, had a few nervous moments when they couldnt find our booking but it got sorted. To be honest I was hoping for a upgrade to a room with a view just to see how the other half lived!!! We got a second floor room with view of a roof! The rooms were nice modern and very light.   • We had a great stay, the room was lovely and new. The reception was not well staffed amd we had to wait quite a while to check in.The parking is quite a issue. Our valet service was just awful with alot of very unhappy people waiting for over a hour for them to fetch the car. We had plenty of time so not such a issue to be waiting. Overall, there is room for improvment. 5

  • "Valet parking is available at the hotel at a rate of $28 per car, per night" is what the website states, but infact its $30 per vehicle. Over all my stay was ok, but with a 4.5 stars rating it certainly didn't feel like it. More like a Novetel or Ibis. Staff were good, just not enough of them to deal with the multiple coach loads of tourists filling the lobby. The room rate was only $99 on special through Travelbug, so you get what you pay for. 1

  • Not too happy with the overall experience. Reached at 2:30 pm and the room they gave us was for 2 people, even though the booking clearly stated for 3 people and I had specially requested an extra bed. Then, they said that the room was too small for an extra bed, so they moved us to another room where a bed was added almost an hour later. Plus we had to make room for it by moving the beds (The room was again ridiculously small). They were not able to sort out another room for about an hour. We were already tired from the journey and wanted to take rest in the room for a bit before going out and that did not happen. There was no one picking up the phone in reception to help with this. I had to come down to reception myself twice to sort things out and wait in 10 minute long queues. Even for checkout, it took 15 minutes in the queue. This is not what a guest expects from a hotel like Rydges. I was really dissappointed. 1

  • I am totally unhappy with the mindless design of the shower, each time you have a shower the water plashes all over to the toilet and wet the floor outside the shower due to the walk-in shower screen being too small to stop the splashes. I have to spent 10 min to mop up the water around the toilet or risk of a fall. 1

  • Nice room, great buffet breakfast, and close to viaduct, vector arena and shopping. The staff were all wonderful and helpful. Was offered an upgrade for $49 a night, not sure if this was value for money, but enjoyed our stay. They also got us a cheap taxi to the airport, which we were very grateful for. It cost more than the flight to Auckland just to get from the airport to the hotel!!!! 5
