  • Gorgeous rooms, the staff was very friendly and helpful. Was no problem checking in early, or checking out late. The room was ready for us by midday on the day we arrived without us having specified that we were checking in early, we were expecting to not be able to go up straight away, but it was nice to be able to relax for a little in the room before heading off. We got a city view room but it still had slight view of the harbour. Would definately stay there again!. 5

  • The door man was excelent. Checking in there were complications due to the fact that we had extended our stay to two nights. On entering the room we discovered that we had not been supplied with bath robes. So we rang and asked for some. Five hours later we rang and asked for some again and this time we got them. Then we order coffee via roomservice. Half an hour later we got very cold coffee. The next day we found we could not use our key after 11am again due to the confusion caused by extending our stay by one extra day. Returning to our room at 3.30pm we found we could not have a quiet bottle of bubbly, to celebrate our aniversary, due to the fact that the room was only just starting to be serviced. Taking our bottle down to the deck where the smokers go, we were told we could not sit and have a quiet drink due to the wedding reception taking place (that we were not part of). We shall never return to SKYCITY Grand Hotel Auckland. 5

  • Awesome night as it was our wedding anniversary! Got stuck in the sky tower lifts :-) after dinner. Won some money at the casino and was topped off by a fantastic night in a fantastic room. Great view and comfortable bed. Would recommend to all! 5

  • A really lovely night. Nice room with good facilities. Great view. Little bit noisy as we are quite close to the lift lobby, but despite that we had a great night;s sleep. Very comfy bed. Loved the Lobby Bar - nice atmosphere and great cocktails. Would definitely stay here again. 5

  • Loved the stay, nice friendly staff and a great room. I found the parking situation a pain, had to wait at least half an hour, it could have been 3/4 of an hour even,(It made us very late for our lunch appointment,) for my car to be brought around because they were very busy.Parking cars and getting cars brought up. It would have been better to park it myself. At least I would have known where it was and could have gone to get it. So it pays to ring down half hour early so your car is there. It wasn't helpful that we were only going up to settle in, change to go out again. but apart from that it was a great stay thanks heaps. janvan 5

  • I had to alter the booking due to family illness and unfortunately the travel bug people were not available and have never to date replied to my query so I had to pay twice. The night at the sky grand hotel was fabulous and fortunately the receptionist on the desk gave us a discount. I would recommend this hotel to anyone but not via travel bug they are absoulutely terrible in customer relations. 5

  • Happy with our stay, we parked in the Sky City carpark but didn't realise that you had to come out of Sky City and walk across the road to the Grand Hotel. I thought it was in the same building. The reception staff were very friendly. Our room was nice & roomy & clean, however I was a bit surprised that there was a room service trolley with dirty dishes on it outside one of the rooms which sat there for at least four hours - it was there from the time we checked in and when we went out and came back four hours later, it was still there. I would stay there again though. 5

  • My husband and I stayed 23-25 October and it was absolutely superb. I too read the feedback here but.....there was no need to worry! The staff were outstanding in their behaviour across the whole hotel; our superior king suite was excellent especially the cleanliness as I am a self-confessed germaphobe; the food in The Terrace restaurant was great but dine by Peter Gordon was to die for..we're going back to to SkyCity Grand just for dine by Peter Gordon! I do believe you need to show a degree of humility at five star hotels rather than behaving like you've just paid the world for your stay..then that way, the staff will treat you like superstars which is exactly how it was for us. We highly recommend staying at SkyCity Grand. Thank you for the most enjoyable stay! 5

  • It was a really awesome stay at the Grand,I had read some bad feedback and was expecting the worst,instead it was great,the staff were all friendly and super helpful and the room was clean & fresh.   • Enjoyed the stay, pleasant, enjoyed the facilities and room we stayed in. However, we were disappointed with the service. We won a package (a room + other things. When we arrived were told we had to pay for parking. I spoke to a gentleman who said the same - then I advised him to check our package, he found we were to have a valet parking. We went to our room and found we didn't get our welcome pack. We had to go to reception again. They arranged for that to be sent to the room. When we went to the lobby to get our welcome drinks - were told we were not on the computer and so had to go back to reception. By this time I had wanted to cancel my booking. We got our drinks finally after all that. We were not very happy with all the going back and forth. It wasn't a nice start to our night. However, we enjoyed the rest of the say. Thanks 5

  • A very pleasant hotel located very centrally. I enjoyed my stay but have two suggestions for them to improve the hotel. At least one pen in the room would be handy, I forgot to pack one and couldn't find one anywhere in the room. The tv picture quality was marginal at best, perhaps it could be fixed by adjusting the contrast, brightness, etc, but I suspect the tube was burnt out, or getting old. New ones would be nice. Other that that, Highly recommended. 5

  • The room and the service was generally great, however we do have a couple of quibbles for a top rate hotel. We decided to spash out and ordered crayfish from the room service meals but it was quite stale and tasteless. As we went to have a spa, people got in sweating straight from their gym work out. Some signs up to remind them to shower first would be a good idea. Also we were very disappointed to find that we had been charged $30 for 8 minutes on the internet in our room. We had each literally just checked our emails but turned the computer off between each of us checking. When I pointed this out to receiption in the morning they were very unhelpful. I ofered to pay half- $15 for one hour - but they were adamant that even though they could see that we had used the internet for a few minutes only, the time lapse had gone over two hours. This seems to be a very unfair system and one that I believe they should remedy. Otherwise, it was very pleasant. 5
