As a restfull interlude while passing by I found that it was well appointed with all requirements and very friendly owners. As it is a smaller Lodge it is more friendly and personal than many larger establishments. Stayed during the easter sunday and monday. Very hospitable and enjoyed the "eastern" taranaki experience. Carol and Dave were very helpful and gave a lot of tips on places to go and visit. Dave and Carol are just the best hosts. The lodge is well located and the facilities are top notch. The bikes / bike trail was great fun for the whole family. Making for a perfect weekend away. We found Dave and Carol lovely hosts and the accommodation was very clean and comfortable. We were however a little dissapointed in the bike ride as we were expecting a mountain bike track not a main road, may have been our mistake. Colonel Maloney's pub was within easy walking distance.
