Hi we arrived to rennovations being done on the reception area which were very loud. We were told we would not hear in the room, but they were wrong. We had noise from the time we booked in to 6.30pm, then woken at 7.30am next morning. Very dissapointed that we were not advised this was going on as we would not have booked to stay. 1

Dear Nicola, We are sorry you did not enjoy your stay. We are completing some minor renovations at the moment in the reception area and will soon be welcoming Amigos Mexican Grill to the Hotel. There has been some occasional noise during weekday work hours for which we apologise. We are always very happy to move guests if we are aware there is an issue, there are many other rooms unaffected by the construction. Or if necessary refund so they may stay some where else. It was a special occasion so we booked the royal suite. Suite was excellent and the spa very relaxing. All clean and enjoyed the views from the balconies. Great time and only 45minutes from home. 5

The service was great, i booked for te 16th, 17th, 18th and 20th and was pleased with the room upgrade we got when we arrived back on the 20th. The rooms were a bit small but that wasn't an issue as we weren't staying there all the time, and the restuarants at the front were great, i enjoyed the stay 5

When We check-in We were told there were no double beds left. We were given a bunk to sleep on.(no mention of this on travel bug site) Not a great way to start the honeymoon. would of been cheaper to stay on a bunk at a backpakers. I've complained to travel bug, never heard back. I'll never use this site again. 1

Our Sincerest Apologies you did not enjoy your stay with us. We note you did not advise us you required a Double Bed at the time of Reservation. It is Hotel Policy to assign Twin Beds if we have not been advised of bedding requirements. Some of our Economy Rooms have a Queen Bed and Bunk Set and some have 2 sets of Bunks, so the bottom 2 beds are frequently used as a Twin by guests, with TV and Ensuite Facilities we consider our Economy Rooms excellent value. We booked an economy room - $80 - for triathlon weekend. It was excellent. Convenient to town, good bed and shower/bath, clean, access to self service kitchen which had pots/pans plates etc. Good coffee at the Hotel cafe! 5

We booked an economy room, and that is what we got -- pretty much no frills. Very basic accommodation. The hotel has a good location, short walk to all the night spots and restaurants in town. We liked that ambience very much. I can imagine that the hotel has much nicer rooms, too, but we did not see any. The staff was very friendly and obliging. For that we were grateful. No wireless in room, though advertised. 1

My partner and I booked into a twin room as it was all they had left and I have to say the beds were terrible, incredibly soft. However after our first night we went to reception and they were really helpful, looking for a board to place under the beds to stiffen them up and finally actually being able to swap us to a double room. The bed in the double room was fine. We went for a cheaper room which doesn't have the view but we could see that the view from the front facing views was stunning. The place is definitely getting old but I think the price you pay is about right, if it had a refurb then due to its prime location the rooms would surely double in price. So all in all I would have to recommend the place, just be aware that you're getting a cheap room for absolutely smack in the middle of Wanaka so expect the place to be looking a wee bit old. 5

The staff were really great, really friendly. Thumbs down on the walls being paper thin though and the amount of noise - it was a wed night and there was yelling and screaming at 3am (which sounded like it was right inside your room). I had stayed there because it was a great price and I'm a poor student but I would have paid an extra $20 for some sleep! 1
