  • We stayed in the one bedroom cottage. The couch is super comfortable - I want to take it home! We enjoyed wandering up the creek and looking at the native plants. Excellent place to unwind. 5

  • Great place for a relaxing break from the city. Very kind and helpful owners. We like the environment-conscious approach of these owners. This is also a good place from where to explore the rest of the peninsula. 5

  • Thank you Nick for your positive comments, very much appreciated. Hope that you all had a lot of fun on the rest of your travels. Say did Ashley (I think) leave a watch behind as I found a child's watch in the cottage. If so let us know if you want it sent. All the best, take care, Warwick

  • We had a lovely overnight stay at Te Mata, our only regret was we couldn't stay longer! Now that we've had a brief taste, we are definately looking forward to a return trip with other family members. The accomodation was spotlessly clean and tidy and well furbished, making our stay a vaery comfortable one. The surroundings are beautifully tranquil and you get the feeling of being in touch with nature as you listen to the birds singing and the sound of the river flowing. The owners, Kathryn and Warwick, made us feel welcome and were very pleasant, offering the children use of the kayaks, we all enjoyed the river and communal garden, a lovely, relaxing retreat, thank you, we hope to be back in November. 5

  • Te Mata Lodge!!! Thumbs up to the hosts. Its like getting back to nature with the beautiful bush surrounding each cabin, birds singing all day, listing to the Tui talking, then hearing the running river just down the way where beautiful warm swimming holes just ended those hot days with relaxation. We would differently recommend Te Mata lodge to anyone looking for accommadation and we will be back. 5
