Come and relax in the beautiful city of Gisborne and let the folk at the Eastland Motor Lodge make your stay one to remember. Gisborne's main beaches are close by where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll, swim or surf. Waikanae Beach is known for its great surfing and you can also see Young Nicks Head from the beach. Wainui Beach is only a 5-minute drive away and is also a great beach for surfers.
The Eastland Motor Lodge in Gisborn is set on two and a half acres of landscaped gardens. We have a children's playground safely situated amongst the many varied palms and native trees and a salt-water swimming pool. There is plenty of space for the family to run around and to enjoy a family BBQ.
We offer Studio Suites — All have kitchen facilities, one unit has twin beds, one unit has a king-size bed and the remaining 7 units have a queen-size bed and a single bed.
The eight family units all have full kitchen facilities. Two units have two single beds in the bedroom and a queen-size bed in the main room and the remaining six units have three single beds in the bedroom and a double-size bed in the main room.
We are a friendly, family-run motel with great facilities for families and groups but also for couples who require a peaceful and tranquil setting but remain central to most of the amenities that Gisborne has to offer.

Much improved since the new owners took over. Plenty of refurbishment going on, and plans for future development under consideration will enhance this motel enormously. The whole place has quite a run-down appearance and not at all as per the photos. Every aspect of this place is old and rundown. Fair enough that the new owners have recently taken over and have a lot of work ahead with renovations, but this was not reflected in the price when compared to other excellent places we've stayed throughout our trip around the NI. We were offered an alternative unit after having to clean dirty dishes and we could no longer stand the soiled curtains dangling over the bed or the soap with hair left in the shower. The gardens are not landscaped, nor are there safe playgrounds for kids as described in the add. This is very misleading and unfortunate as we selected this place in our search because of the recreation these "features" would present to our young child. Luckily our stay here did not put a damper on our visit to beautiful Gisborne! Best of luck with the renovations, but unfortunately it does not deserve a thumbs-up at the moment.

We are very sorry your stay at Eastland Motor Lodge was not as you expected. Since your stay however we have been busy with the much needed work and there is now a play area for the children with a brand new Trampoline, Slide and See Saw. The unit themselves since our takeover now go through a thorough check to ensure that our staff are performing thier cleaning duties to a high standard. The Once so beautiful landscaped gardens have also had a dramatic transformation over the last few days with the majority of weeds and unwanted trees and bushes removed which has revealed the more tropical features around our 1.5 acres of land. If you are ever planning to visit Gisborne again we invite you to come see for your self the changes made as i feel you would appreciate how much work has been done since your stay and hopefully change your thumbs down to thumbs up.

New owners(had only been there 4days)very friendly & obliging,I feel they certainly have a job ahead of them to bring the units up to a higher std otherwise they were certainly very clean & quiet,Reasonable value for money.

1. Unit cheap, clean and tidy, but overall complex very "tired". We could have found better accommodation had we wanted to pay more. 2. Immediate attention to replacing defunct bathroom light appreciated, but bedside lamp not working and split toilet seat should have been picked up during routine cleaning. 3. Turning down the fridge thermostat to low on two "servicing" occasions was bizzare and not appreciated. 4. Our bed was "remade" each day, although we had "made it" to suit our purposes before leaving the motel each day. 5. The photos shown on the webpage are so out-of-date they shouldn't be there, as the unkempt grounds and overall untidiness, together with the cobwebs and daddy-long-legs decorating the reception office only add to the inferred indifference of the Management. 6. An email sent to the Management four days ago outling the above was not responded to.

Comfortable, although fairly basic. There was no remote control in room, but the owner brought one to the room later. Also I got dropped off at the airport when I left.
