Kepler Mountain View offers Bed and Breakfast and self contained accommodation on the doorstep of Fiordland National Park, one of the worlds largest World Heritage Parks.
Kepler Mountain View Cottage and our Bed and Breakfast is located at on the outskirts of Lake Manapouri with stunning views over the Kepler, Hunter, Takitimu and Eyre Mountains. We have 2 more cottages, called Motu-Au Close Cottages, located in the heart of Manpouri within easy walking distance to the departure point for Doubtful Sound trips, Lake Manapouri and all amenities. Kepler Mountain View or Motu-Au Close cottages are the perfect place to base yourself while visiting the world renown Milford and Doubtful Sounds and exploring Fiordland.
Kepler Mountain View is a 5 acre developing orchard (hazelnuts, cherries and more recently Pinot Noir grapes) at Lake Manapouri along the Southern Scenic Route on the fringe of the Manapouri township. The Manapouri township on the shores of Lake Manapouri is a small village with a population of 300 and is the departure point for visiting Doubtful Sound.
Relax and unwind at Kepler Mountain View or Motu-Au Close Cottages and take time out for yourself to get back in touch with what is important in life and leave Manapouri feeling refreshed and invigorated. Lake Manapouri is a place where you can sit back and relax or be busy exploring all that Fiorldland has to offer, either way you will leave Fiordland feeling like a piece of your heart has been captured.
Your hosts, Jessie and Ray are both involved in working in Fiordland National Park and can help you with planning your trip to maximise your time while exploring Fiordland National Park and the surrounding Te Anau Basin.
Manapouri is a scenic 10 to 15 minute drive from Te Anau. There is a small store at Lake Manapouri, 2 restaurants, a local hotel on the shores of Lake Manapouri where memorabilia of the building of the underground power station at the head of Lake Manapouri makes interesting reading while enjoying a quiet drink. Whether planning a kayaking trip on Doubtful Sound or a cruise, or just trout fishing or enjoying the many walking tracks Manapouri is a great place to spend a few days to enable you to truely appreciate all it has to offer.
We can store your car and belongings free of charge while you are away visiting Doubtful or Milford Sounds or hiking in Fiordland National Park.
