The Spa Hotel is a historic site with 10 studios and 15 chalets. We also have a bar and a bistro onsite. The Spa Hotel is not your usual hotel, it has quirks and atmosphere which make it unique.
The historic Spa Hotel is located just on the out skirts of Taupo making it a very quiet and restful place to stay.
All bedding and kitchen ware is already on site just turn up and start relaxing, either from your personal spa bath in the back of the chalets, or standing on the free flowing deck overlooking the beautiful authentic cottages situated around the Spa.
We provide food from 6pm everyday for your convenience. We also have a Hot mineral pool for you to soak in. We are located with many facilities surrounding us.

Room clean and good basic equipment and friendly staff. Nice and quiet location. However the place is rather run down and in some need of tlc. Would be an awesome family place to stay if it work was carried out. Bit disappointed that the office was not open at 9am for us to check out, was told by cleaner to leave key in room and lock the door.

We enjoyed our stay, the room was basic but has all we needed. Good value for money. Warm water, warm room, staff were very nice and helpful. No problems at all with hot water. The site could do with some tlc, but it has a nice feel to it despite being a bit old. .

The place is a bit worn down but the rooms are clean and tidy. The local pub has a great atmosphere and the staff is friendly. The onsite hot pool is basic but the water is real nice and hot. What else do you want for $80?.

Good value for money. We stayed in chalet 9 and it was clean, tidy with all services working. Staff friendly and helpful. That said the whole outfit could do with some TLC and a paint job.

Clean and Tidy inside, beds where comfortable but a bit small ( feet stuck out the end of the bed ), Friends would not stay as they were scared of sleeping in the Ponderosa, ( little cottage at the end )and gave the keys back. No hot water in the shower ( Luke warm ) Deluxe units were far from that misleading addvertising, probably were about 15 years ago, appliances were dangerous and TV had only 2 channels, grounds needed a tidy up and other guests had there cars broken into and stuff stolen. for a budget stay OK but price to high for what you are suppose to get.

Overall good value for money - staff very pleasant and helpful. We booked 4 chalets for a family weekend and had a great time. Need to address maintenance issues especially with electrical appliances.
