Larry and Sonja welcome you to Acacia Park Motel, Wanganui.
Acacia Park Motel is situated in the most tranquil and peaceful tree, shrub and bush covered grounds in New Zealand. The park like grounds overlook the Whanganui River and all its activities.
Acacia park in an ideal place to stay for families with its large spacious grounds - 2 and a half acres and childrens play area.
There are 12 suites spaciously located around the grounds to maximize privacy and quietness. 7 large suites with full kitchen facilities sleep up to 6 people. One of these suites have also been set up to accommodate "Backpackers" and at a real low cost of $30 per person, per night. 2 suites with full kitchen sleep 2-3 people and 3 suites with breakfast facilities to sleep 2 people. All units are self-contained.
The Location of Acacia Park is on Anzac Parade. On main arterial route linking state highways 3 and 4, overlooking the Wanganui River. 500m to adventure playground and aquatic amusement park and 1km to Paddleboat jetty.

Fairly dated decor. tv didn't work, but was clean and tidy

Ooops!!!! So sorry the unit had just been re-painted and trying real hard to get the furnishing's replaced as soon as possible, However - Since buying the business we have concentrated on giving our guests a real good clean & comfortable sleep - so have firstly gone and purchased all new 100% white percale linen before spending the money on tables & chairs etc. TV's were down in our area on that day due to bad weather. We are truly sorry about this.

The rooms themselves are large - plenty of room. The bedding was crisp white and clean. Great. Don't look under things though - a few grubbie bits on the floor, around the TV, and tired paintwork. The kitchen area was immaculate. The bathroom clean. The milk we were given was a few days old and off! It is the little things that count. The place needs a bit of a facelift.

Thanks for informing all guests/travellers of our Crisp White, Clean & 100% percale Cotton Linen as this is of great importance to make one's sleep comfortable. Ooops!!! about the few goodies on the floor at TV.Will take this up with the staff member concerned. The new owner's are in the process of carrying out all the painting, repairs & renovations. Doing what's most important firstly. We promise the painting of both inside & outside is on the cards. Some of the units having already been done and looking awesome. We're so glad to hear that the Kitchen & Bathroom were immaculate & clean. And about the milk... we must apologise for that...we're really sorry. Should you have popped into the office we would have changed it for you immediately. We trust that you will return to stay with us again very soon. From Sonja

Thank you for your direct feed back regarding our previous comments dated Jan 30, 2011. we would like to acknowledge that you are in the process of refurnishing your units and that your beds,bedding,linen,towels etc were excellent/luxurious and that once we had brought to your attention the state of the first unit we were moved to a more acceptable unit. We did stay for the whole week as planned and you are in a good location by the river.
