Whatamonga Homestay is a unique bed and breakfast experience located in the Marlborough Sounds, New Zealand.
Whatamonga was purpose-built to provide two separate guest units and two guest rooms in the main house. All have individual entrances and offer private sunny decks overlooking the picturesque waters of the Sounds.
Set in idyllic bush with panoramic views over Whatamonga Bay and Queen Charlotte Sound, the accommodation offers seclusion and direct access to the beach, yet Picton is only 9 kilometres drive away.
Water activities abound, including swimming at the beach, fishing from the jetty, taking the dinghy or kayaks out in the bay, visiting the salmon and mussel farms, or fishing charters.
Daily breakfast is included in our rates.
Meals are served in the house, units, rooms, or alfresco on the deck.
Whatamonga Homestay has enjoyed a Four Star Qualmark rating since 2006.

This is a beautiful location and the guest rooms were clean and spacious with a spectacular view. The host, Colette, was exemplary. Staying at Whatamonga at the beginning of our trip set the bar very high indeed. Comfort, helpfulness beyond measure, breakfasts to die for, not to mention the view....I dream of returning!! Perfectly situated on the water, the pictures don't do this homestay justice. Nothing could be better!

Whatmonga Homestay is in an excellent location for views over the Marlborough Sound. We had a private villa and were welcomed into the home by the hostess for both breakfasts and evening drinks. It was clean and comfortable, fitted out to a high standard and we can highly recommend it.

This was one of the nicest places we found over two weeks on the North Island. Views of the sound from the room were inspiring. Collette was delightful and very helpful with area suggestions. We enjoyed her company and a very good continental breakfast each morning. Very clean and relaxing place where we would have liked to stay longer.

The homestay is in a beautiful location with wonderful views as soon as you wake up. Very private with own balcony overlooking the sound, well furnished and very clean. Colette, the host, was very helpful and kind and did everything to suit us. We loved it here and it totally exceeded out expectations.
