With views stretching across the Waimea Inlet to the mountains of Kahurangi National Park, the resort is conveniently located just a short drive from the heart of Nelson and the city's airport.

Grand Mercure Nelson Monaco can accommodate up to 225 guests, with 20 Boutique Hotel Rooms, 33 One Bedroom Studios, 6 One Bedroom Cottages and 25 Two Bedroom Cottages. It is also the ideal venue for conferences and special events, with purpose-built facilities for up to 150 people.

The end-of-2012 weather-bomb destroying a bridge prevented us from reaching nelson and staying here, but all the staff i had to talk to were very friendly and helpful. When i visit nelson again, i'll definitely stay here. 5HANS BOTHA - Jan 11, 2013 Travelbug verified review

Our stay was only brief, however we were impressed by the accommodation and staff helpfulness. The orangerie was a lovely place for dinner and the food superb. The location is good and felt a world away from nelson city - lovely and quiet, very restful even tho we were in the regiom for business.

We both enjoyed our weekend stay and found the 1 bedroom appartment to be very well appointed and clean. We would recommend this as excellent value for money. The pub across the road "the honest lawyer" is well worth a pint or two.

The staff were great and very helpful. However, we had no heating from the downstairs radiators, nor did the gas fire work on the second night- we were cold. We were told the gas bottles had frozen(?) and that the gas would be on in 10 minutes- the gas was always on as the pilot light was on, but the fire wouldn't ignite, it was disappointing as no follow up phone call was made to check on our heating. It was a cold night.

Excellent accommodation, very good food. More of a quite village feel than your normal 4star hotel. Will recommend it to anyone who enjoys a bit of piece and quite within easy reach of town. Will be staying here again next time we are in the area.

We recently stayed here for 4 nights, and it was amazing! Very professional service, restaurant food was great, pool & spa pool very handy for the summer months. There was 2 weddings on that weekend and the music stopped at 11:30pm. If you're a light sleeper probably best to ask for a room on the opposite side, but we were fine with it. We loved it and will defnitely recommend!
