Located on the northern end of the Paihia opposite the beautiful Ti Beach, The Bay of Islands Gateway Motel is a pleasant 10 minute walk into the township of Paihia.
This is a small modern motel that offers guests high quality affordable accommodation. The motel offers a wide range of rooms able to accommodate the corporate traveler through to large families. All rooms have full cooking facilities, are fully air-conditioned and have access to high speed internet as well as SKY television, DVD players, large lounge areas and dining facilities. A private guests BBQ area and sundeck are located on the upper level. Private Guest Spa and kayaks are available for free use to all motel guests.
A wide range of rooms are available, including studio units, 1 and 2 bedroom units and also a ground floor unit is set up with disabled access. The Bay of Islands Gateway Motel is rated as a 4 star Plus Accommodation Provider by Qualmark guaranteeing high quality rooms, facilities and service.

Very good services and facilities, comfort beds and very clean room, the location is easy to find and very close to Countdown supermarket and a petrol station, only 2 mins drive to the ferry building and town centre.

Pardon me Brian, but even when you click on the 2 bedroom unit [RATE IS FOR 4 PERSONS, sleeps up to 6], link above (which is what we booked and paid for, in advance) it most certainly DOES mention Breakfast [Continental] as an inclusion. Just like it includes, and mentions, the kettle, kitchen, linen, air-conditioning, bedside lamp, team & coffee supplies, electric blankets etc. THERE IS NO MENTION, WHAT SO EVER, that the continental breakfast is an optional extra, or an extra price etc. If you pay the requested rate for 4 persons to stay, then it stands to reason that you would receive a continental breakfast for 4 persons, given that it clearly states it IS an inclusion. You may wish to alter your advertising, as this quite clearly is false and misleading conduct. I didn't want to make a drama of this, but in all fairness you are being quite misleading in what you say about your breakfasts.

If at any time, a continental breakfast is complimentary, the offer is loaded onto the individual online booking agencies inclusions and appears on your Reservation Confirmation as an inclusion. It appears that what you are referring to is the information provided about the Motel in general. The vast majority of Motels provide breakfast as a service to guests. We have an extensive breakfast menu in our Motel compendiums in each room. The menu fully details the breakfasts and the respective prices. The motel services are fully detailed on my own website and also on all other booking agencies I use. It is not misleading , it is provide so that guests have an understanding of what services and facilities are provided by the Motel. We cater for many hundreds of guests throughout a year and have not had any queries or complaints about the services provided or offered. Go to any number of motel websites and view services and facilities provided. Breakfast is a common service available.

Checked in 13 Sept 2010 - Brian was a very helpful host. We booked and paid for a 2bedroom unit which ended up being on the second floor, however opted for the nearby one bedroom "ground floor" unit instead, at the same rate [? go figure]. All advertising on this website, confirmed a "Continental Breakfast" was included [even the signage outside motel], however we didn't receive this, even though we enquired [it was only for walk-in's ???]. We didn't appreciate that with 2 young kids. But we popped into the nearby grocery store & bought bread etc. Unit was ok, beds were ok, kitchen was clean, but the tv reception not too good. Had a lovely fish 'n chips dinner at the local place. Went on Bay of Islands Hole in the Rock tour the next day, thanks to Brian for his assistance in getting us booked. Had a sensational day.

These guests pre booked and paid for a 2 bdrm unit online with Bookit. Arrived late and did not want top floor because of the need to carry bags up and down the stairs. It was explained that the only family unit on the ground floor is a 1 bedroom unit, which was acceptable to the guests. The tariffs do in some instances work out the same due to the advertised tariff for a 2 bedroom unit being for up to 4 guests and the advertised tariff for a 1 bedroom unit being for only 2 guests. The charge for extra guests can often bring the tariffs into line with each other. If a continental breakfast is an inclusion on a pre-booked online reservation it is stated on the Guests Confirmation. In this case it was not an inclusion. Any promotion which include a continental always stipulate "for 2 guests" and the room type. The TV programmes are provided by Sky Digital. Reception is never an issue unless guests go beyond the channell selection numbers on the Remote. I guesYou cant please every one

Really enjoyed our stay here, nice and spacious rooms. Close to supermarket and petrol station. Would recommend to any travellers in the Bay of Island area.

Check-in was efficient and friendly. Room large and spacious with all facilities supplied. Located a minutes walk from the beach and the supermarket and a petrol station and about 5 minutes from the Treaty House. Not too far from bars and restaurants either. Excellent value.

Highly recommended,excellent facilities & very friendly & helpful hosts who arranged bookings. Handy to the beach, town & supermarket. We would not hesitate to recommend this motel to any future travellers.
