Located 15 minutes drive south of Dunedin on the beautiful Southern Scenic Route, the defunct Ocean View School ( closed 2008 ) is now our home and small boutique style backpackers.
It is simply a world away from the hustle of the city, yet so conveniently placed for getting around all the activities and sites offered locally. The rooms are bright and clean, and you control the heat you want via thermostat controlled heating in each room. We offer free WiFi Internet, a small lounge with TV for your convenience, full kitchen facilities, laundry on request, free tea/coffee. The property is located on 5 acres so you are welcome to bring your friendly pets ( dogs must be on a leashed run outside ), horses are welcome and our beach affords fantastic riding opportunities. Out back there is a tennis court for the active traveller.

Great location in the heart of brighton. Intriguing set up - family home and backpackers in a school building: works really well and makes it memorable. Hosts are busy people with lots going on but nicky took the time to find us and check everything was fine - obviously loves having guests and meeting people, and very kindly provided breakfast when she had no obligation to.
