Burn Cottage Retreat offers three boutique self contained cottages and luxury homestay accommodation, designed specifically for couples to relax and de-stress amidst beautiful surroundings and stunning decor.
Rascal, Moonlight and Celebration are modern, private, secluded self-contained cottages set amidst a walnut grove and hosta, woodland and tussock gardens, 3km from Cromwell, 2km from the shores of Lake Dunstan, right in the heart of the Central Otago vineyard region.
Burn Cottage Retreat offer informal luxury in a relaxed and private yet stunning rural environment, 3km from town. Our home and cottages are set well apart from one another so and peace and quiet reign supreme - you will be amazed how well you sleep here!
Rascal and Moonlight Cottages are each designed for onecouple with one king size bed while Celebration Cottage is a studio cottage which can accommodate up to four people - one king size bed, one king single and one single rollaway bed, all in the same room. We do however recommend taking two cottages if there are two couples, as this will give you more space.
We offer free use of our guest laundry, mountain bikes and helmets, plus a complimentary bowl of Meyric walnuts (from our walnut grove)in your cottage on arrival. A delicious continental breakfast hamper is also available (extra cost).
Each cottage is fully self contained with private, sunny deck areas, gas barbecue and carport. Cosy gas fire, TV/DVD and DVD library, books and magazines, luxurious en suite bathroom with great shower pressure (complimentary toiletries). The kitchen has a cook top, microwave and fridge freezer.
Enjoy free access to the guest vegetable garden, herbs, rhubarb patch and fruit trees. Friendly pet sheep.
We recommend at least a two night stay so you can really enjoy the cottages and everything this fantastic region has to offer.
Guests who don't require a cottage might prefer to relax in the homely atmosphere of our modern country farmhouse which includes timber features, charming touches and country style. We have dedicated a separate wing of our home to hosting bed and breakfast guests in a lovely, airy king size room with exclusive use of a private bathroom with separate shower and claw foot bath. Guests share our lounge and dining room facilities with us and are welcome to relax by the log fire. Please note our friendly Pointer/cross dog, shares our home with us but will be unobtrusive during your stay.

From the moment I discovered this place on an evening restaurant transfer for some guests, I thought "What a wonderful place to stay."
