Just 45 minutes from Dunedin or 30 minutes from Dunedin International airport, Cascade Creek Retreat is a home away from home.
With a breath taking 180 degree view of native bush, an easy step off the deck will immediately take guests onto an adjacent track, past beautiful cascading creeks, in and through diverse native surrounds, across farm land and back to your Retreat.Relax in front of the large open log fire while roasting marshmallows or soak in the surroundings in a perfectly situated outdoor bath overlooking the valley.
Cascade Creek Retreat sleeps up to 6 people and provides a complimentary continental breakfast daily. Solar powered with gas for cooking and hot water, the Retreat is completely self sufficient for guests during their stay.
Guests can witness an abundance of native NZ birds such as Bellbirds, Tuis and Wood Pigeons feeding from the trees just metres from the front door. With no internet or cell phone coverage Cascade Creek Retreat is a true ' getaway' and guests can choose to undertake any of the many things to do or simply immerse themselves in a book celebrating the ability to whittle away a day with as many as or little distractions as they like.

This is how a kiwi should experience their own back yard! The lodge is nestled in amongst native New Zealand bush, away from urban environments and operates with sustainable values. Aside from this place being amazing in every possible way and Janene & Dave taking care of all the special touches that make you feel incredibly spoilt... I need to say that after many busy years of raising children, working and very little 'couple' time we headed to this magical place with one thing on our minds...peace.. we got so much more than we bargained for, this place definitely revived our relationship.Loved every second of our stay!

Great honeymoon location, recommend staying for atleast two nights. Owners are great, we had a congratulations cake waiting for us on arrival...which was very yummy.

We found that the peace and quiet had a relaxing effect with no interruptions from the likes of a TV, cell phones. Time to sit, talk reconnect and enjoy the beautiful surrounding and enjoy the birds and bush, the hot weather that weekend was a real bonus too. The general layout of the cabin and all the facilities made the stay comfort and enjoyable, everything that you could possibly need was available.

If you are looking for a romantic getaway as a special occasion treat, a retreat from ‘the rat race’ or some time to yourself then this place is it! You'd never believe it’s just out of Milton! Hidden away in a valley, you could be miles from civilisation. We had a couple of truly fantastic days there. The log cabin is just gorgeous. Every need is thought about and catered for, the hospitality is amazing (whether you choose to see the hosts or not) and the setting is truly divine regardless of the weather. It’s something pretty special! We had the “Dinner In” (chef cooked for us) and it was really top class (and totally romantic)! We can’t recommend this highly enough.

Fantastic, very private no cell phones or TV,great.6 adults spent two nights at the retreat, we relaxed went for a busy walk and enjoyed Janene's home made cookies.The Hosts popped in to see we had everything then left us to the peace of unspoilt New Zealand. Thank you.
