Ms. Milne arrived at approx. 6.00pm on Thursday 21st March 2013 and she had booked and pre paid for a twin one bedroom unit, through the website. We do not recall being made aware of any special requirements. She had been allocated a two bedroom unit on the first floor, which contained a queen bed and a double bed. While checking in I noticed that Ms. Milne was using a stick, had restricted mobility and would have clearly been unable to make it up the stairs. I asked Ms. Milne if she would like me to find her alternative accommodation and tried 9 other properties before I found a unit that met Ms. Milnes requirements. I advised Ms. Milne of the property and the cost and she indicated this was acceptable. Although we had not received payment for this booking prior to Ms. Milnes arrival, to help Ms. Milne meet the cost of the alternative accommodation we made a refund of the amount that we would be paid and duly sent Ms. Milne on her way. I am sorry Ms. Milne did not appreciate our help or service.Econo Lodge Alcala

No problems with the facilities at all - We're not used to city noises so I think my wife was woken during the night by patrons of the service station or food store over the road. However, she did get back to sleep and it was a great break for her from our own business - a boarding kennel/cattery, which keeps her busy 7 days a week. Thanks.

While kitchen etc was spotless and neat, the general age of the unit and worn out bedding was not good. The carpet should be replaced and new bedding purchased. Heating was fine, plenty of hot water etc but no heated towel rail even and room was not serviced. Not good value for money therefore.

As it happens, we had also noticed that our units were coming on in years, and as of your stay, we were already 3 months into our 2008 refurbishment, which we are coordinating so as not to disturb our guests. The unit you stayed in on the 16th and 17th of July 2008 was scheduled to be painted in the latter half of August, and the plush towelling you received was brand new, as part of our upgrade. As per protocol, our staff indicated on the chart for the 17th of July that they were instructed by the younger woman from your unit not to service the room, otherwise they would certainly have done so. We apologise for any mix-up, but did what we thought was desired under the circumstances. It is truly unfortunate that you were not satisfied by your stay.
