  • I read reviews before booking this stay and felt like the place i slept was opposite. Everyone said clean! but no no no i found the room rather unpleasant!!! i opened the door to be greeted with a 'disposable wet nappy smell' it was quite nauseating. I tried to keep the door open to air the room but on return from our dinner out the smell was back with advengance. The carpet had a trail of bleach/ discolouration that went along the lounge carpet. I was very cautious of putting anything on the floor as i felt the longish pile carpet could harbour anything. The combination of the carpet appearance and the terrible aroma had us paranoid about what was soiled in the room. In the bedroom and bathroom there were brown splatters up the walls, unknown what it was and if it was basic house keeping missed? the bed in the lounge (classed as king) was two single/ seperate beds pushed together that had obvious ridges on the edges on the mattresses, not good it you wanted to be in the middle . 1

  • Hello Dee Thank you for your feedback. We were overseas when you stayed at Tourist Court, so knew nothing about your problem. A nappy smell is definitely unacceptable. If you had brought it to the attention or our relief manager, she would definitely have done all that she could to sort it out for you, either by moving you to another unit or, if none were available, finding you alternative accommodation. The stains you refer to were caused by a new housekeeper dripping bleach on the carpet - we are looking for means to recolour them at present. Because we we try to be chemical free (bleach is the only chemical we use to remove stains from the toilet pans) we actually use a commercial grade steam cleaner to clean and sanitise our floors and carpets each clean. Toilet seats, flushes, etc are sanitised by blasting them with a steam nozzle. The king bed a genuine king. It is a type that is commonly used in both hotels and motels and is called a 'Zip king'. It has specially designed mattress that are zipped together - it is probably this zipped join that you felt in the middle - allowing them to be split into two single beds when we have people staying who are not couples. We are sorry for your negative experience and that we did not get the opportunity to put things right for you. Please, please, whenever you are in a motel where things are not as you require, go to reception and tell the management immediately. This brings it to their attention and gives them the opportunity to put things right for you then and there. Kind regards John (Owens) Owner
