Bevan and Delwyn Lowen welcome you to the Alma Motel, Oamaru, New Zealand.
We have 7 units featuring 3 cottages and 4 motels. Two units have full cooking facilities and others have hotplate and microwave. We are situated 3kms south of the Oamaru town boundary on SH1 and a short 5 minute drive from the town centre.
We are part of the Budget Motel chain and our "more affordable than town" prices are popular with budget conscious travellers.
We offer clean, comfortable units that are serviced daily. All units are non smoking. Pets are welcome by arrangement.
Also available is a fully furnished 3 bedroom house situated in a good area of Oamaru with fantastic views of the township and harbour.

Fairly basic, but clean and remarkably cheap. Try for a unit away from the road though - I was in Unit 1 which is right next to the highway, and trucks created quite a din at times during the night.

Good accommodation at a reasonable rate. The room was clean and tidy, the bed comfortable and warm. Warm and friendly greeting on arival and yes the dog was there but not a pest as someone else found it to be. I would return if I was needing a bed in that region again.

We had a good night here though not large this served us well for a nights stay. The bed was very comfortable. Only thing we could fault was the can opener which only just worked and a a lack of microwave dishes. We would stay there again as it is good value for money. Dont understand why anyone would complain about the dog as he is very friendly!

Fantastic place to stay with children, stayed in number 2 and 3 on way to and from down south. Sheep (and new lambs) a great highlight for my 2 year old. Comfortable and simple environment, all you need when passing through without expensive mod cons. Thankyou for our great stay. Only request would be the dog poo around outdoor play area to be picked up, not so cool stuck on shoe when travelling in car!! Otherwise would definately stay again on next trip down.
