Situated on the main road 4km from the airport and 3km from the town centre. Discovery Sherwood Hotel has 78 rooms set in a goldmine village atmosphere, overlooking lake Wakatipu and the Remarkables Mountain Range. Courtesy transfers are available to and from the airport by arrangement, and the local Connectabus service runs a scheduled service from the highway in front of the hotel to the town centre throughout the day. There is ample off-street parking at the hotel.

The staff were nice. The room had a design from the late 80's (green vinyl, yellow walls, pink sink top, crt tv). Linen was faded. It is the first hotel i have ever seen with cooking facilities. A little out of town.
