Renowned for having the largest Hotel rooms in Rotorua, Rydges Rotorua has 135 stylish guest rooms, 90 of these are Deluxe Spa Rooms while there are also 5 King Spa Suites. All Deluxe Spa rooms feature a private balcony, corner spa bath and a Lounge chair and footstool. All rooms received new carpet in 2007 as well as a fresh coat of paint. The addition of 32 inch LCD Flat Screen Televisions into all rooms has been another added benefit.
Located in a park like setting on the edge of Rotorua's Arawa Racecourse, Rydges Rotorua boasts panoramic views across the city to Lake Rotorua and Mokoia Island. Two boys just loved the pool and the eat what you want breakfast. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The room was very clean and comfy. Very nearly didn't have to leave the hotel. In short one of the best hotels we have stayed in. Thanks.

We stayed here on the secret sale the kids loved the pool we swam both day and night! and the room was great size plenty of room for a family. We enjoyed the balcony and location was easy to get about. Only negative would be there was only a couple of towels so once we swam we had no towels for the shower. And there were only 2 mugs, wine glasses and tumblers so i had to drink my cola from a wine glass.

Great stay and an amazing deal via travelbug. Awesome sized room, so spacious plus big bathroom, separate spa room and lovely balcony with view over racecourse. Only in overnight so just used room and gym (no other hotel facilities). Room service was prompt and tasty. Despite the rest of the hotel looking a bit rundown (except the lobby), the staff were helpful and the room size alone would make me return - especially at the travelbug deal price.

Probably the biggest studio room i've ever stayed in (deluxe room). Bed was huge and very comfy. Furnishings were beautiful. Having a separate spa room was very cool. View over race course and lake was great - would be perfect on a racing day. The fact there was a basin to wash cups instead of using bathroom basin like in many hotels was excellent. Portacot had comfy mattress for my baby. Room was very clean overall but cleaners missed a big toe nail on carpet which was rather off putting. Would be nice if there was a microwave as there's lots of room for one. Overall i strongly recommend this hotel if you stay in a deluxe room and get a good deal on travelbug (mine was a secret sale deal so an amazing deal for what i got). I understand the disabled rooms aren't as good as they are only superior rooms and therefore don't have spa or balcony.

We had a great two night stay, kids loved the pool. The room was clean and tidy, sheets and towels presented well. Generally the place is starting to look a little tired but we were more than happy with the stay.

Not sure which rooms the previous reviewers had but ours was awful. Complained when we left the only reason we did not complain earlier is that it was too difficult to uplift and move rooms with children for our one night stay, and after looking at the rest of the hotel i thought it unlikly any other room would be better. The hotel generally looked rundown (except lobby) and little attention to maintanance/cleanliness. Our room had ripped unhemed and fraying mouldy curtains. The windows and frame had huge amount of mould all over. There was mould on walls in corners and in grout in bathroom. Severly chipped chip board flooring under fridge, general wall dents and scratches ( to be expected), dirty drains, thick dust in places and the worst part, exposed dusty wiring beside both beds where two powerpoints had been moved over about 10cm and hole with wiring left exposed. We paid 185 for this. I wondered if we were given the worst room due to getting a deal through travelbug??.

Awesome two days.children just loved the swimming pool. Me and my husband just had a relaxing weekend watching movies. Breakfast was amazing. Will surely go back again! .

Awesome. Can't wait to go back! king size beds and the pillows were so comfortable. We couldn't get our spa pool hot, but no worries as the kids had as much fun in the large pool. Views out over the racecourse were awesome and would be particularly great when an event was on. Breakfast was great and i liked the unique ways of presenting the food and drinks. I had better keep my eye on travel bug for more deals, and i would certainly recommend to everyone, esp if you have kids.
