  • Another thumb up for the great family and the single units (this is our 3rd time) but definitely not for the owner to call up and ask if we had accidentally taken 5 towels from the room. I suggested that he checked with the maid cuz she went to our room twice. The first was around 9am (wasn't it too early for checkout) while we're cooking our breakfast and she opened the door without first knocking to check if anybody was there. The second time was when we're about to checkout. My wife asked her why in such a hurry and she said all rooms were fully booked that day. When I drove my car out of the parking lot, I saw her coming down from our room. Well, I wasn't accusing anyone but I think it's worth asking if she did lock the door when she came down? I also understand there could be a mix-up when the owner couple and their maid were so busy that day. So if this had been sorted, it would be courteous for the owner to email and let us know. 5

  • I did ring Daniel with regard the towels. My request was courteous and I think fair. The lady charged with servicing the room was my sister so the need for her to remove any items from the room is nil. Anytghing she may want she has only to ask. All the items we supply for our guests comfort were removed in this case i.e. coffee tea boxes of toilet tissues toilet rolls including spares. These are suppplied for our guests comfort whilst they are staying in our accomodation. We weren,t to concerned about those so much about the consumerables but towells are expensive to replace. I was happy to accept Daniels word that they never removed these items and told him so during our conversation. However I do believe we as owners of the business surely have the right to ask. Please note the term accidently was used no accuisation of anything else. I havent contacted Daniel since as I accepted his word and would welcome him back to Pohutu Lodge in the future. Barry

  • Our rooms at Pohutu Lodge were clean and spacious - except for the ensuite toilet which was a bit of a challenge! Reception was friendly and informative. The Lodge is just on the outskirts of town - just a couple of minutes drive in to the centre. 5
