  • Very helpful, informative hosts. We stayed in the mezzanine motels which slept 5. It was very clean and adequate, however quite a small living area for 5, with one settee and a table with 4 chairs in a small area. With under floor heating we were very comfortable, the main bed was also comfy with nice bedding. It is a short walk to restaurants and bars, and snow gear hire places. Also a short drive to the township with supermarket, more bars, cafes and restaurants, also the ohakune club inc whos restaurant had great meals at reasonable prices. We enjoyed our stay here and recommend to others. 5

  • Great place to stay, everything basic supplied and clean. Close to the mountain but then a little way out of town if you are going to the pub. Very friendly hosts who answered all our questions. Would definitely stay there again. Recommended! 5

  • The stay was good, very friendly helpful staff who helped us save money. At one point I thought the people upstairs in the lodge were performing 'Riverdance' but overall everything was all good. Thanks 5

  • Pretty small rooms, but tidy and clean. Had to go back a day early for family reasons, was told if the room was relet out then we'd get a refund. I got someone to call up later that day, and they were told that there was no vacancies, have had no contact from them or had no money refunded so obviously they just pocketed the extra money. 1

  • This guest advised us of their intent to depart well after checkout time. The room was never resold as we never had time to get the cleaning staff back. Anyone who rang up would have been told we were fully booked.

  • We accidentally booked a room with shared kitchen facilities etc but staff were so helpful, managed to fit us in to another unit. The ones with their own kitchenette are really nice, lovely and warm. Service was great would stay again, thanks. 5

  • This lady turned up and thort she had booked a motel room, but in fact had booked a lodge room. She got upset because she thort the room had its own kitchen but had to share the lodge kitchen with the other guests. From then on everything in the room was wrong. There is no mould. There was a bit of condensation on the windows as it was a frosty night. These rooms are very clean, popular and have there own heaters. She did not know how to turn the heater on, and was given another one when she asked for it. She hoped she was going to get a fully contained motel unit for a lodge room price.

  • Great. Was the middle of summer so the entire town was deserted (!) but was made to feel welcome enough. Comfortable, warm, plenty of parking, just down the road from the Powderkeg - I'm sure it's a great spot during winter! 5
