THE HOBBIT MOTORLODGE is right on the road to Turoa Skifield and centrally located in the beautiful alpine location of Ohakune village - the nearest town to Turoa Skifield and only 45 minutes from Whakapapa Skifield.
Ohakune, the après ski capital of the North Island, adjoins the Tongariro World Heritage National Park famous for magic scenery, great walks and mountain biking. It is also close to the Whanganui River National Park - a scenic wonder and canoeist's paradise.
THE HOBBIT MOTORLODGE offers quality self contained and serviced accommodation with facilities rich in warmth and character and has that special touch to make you feel right at home. Accommodation options include luxury spa bath units with spectacular mountain views, studios and 1 or 2 bedroom units. The Hobbit Motorlodge also has backpacker bunk rooms in The Lodge with linen and bedding supplied.

Daily shuttle service available for Turoa.

Nice room (single bunk), had tv (which we didn't use). Really enjoyed the spa pool, and it was nice and quiet. Not sure what it would be like if fully packed as kitchen (in lodge) is quite compact. Definitely would recommend and would stay there again.

A very pleasant stay. Rooms are basic but clean and modern. Spa pool was very relaxing next to a small wooded area. Bruce and Leigh were very friendly and helpful. Recommended.

Great inexpensive accommodation - nice sized room, lots of towels and hot water and only a couple of blocks to walk to the Cyprus Tree for dinner and a glass of wine! Will remember to pack swimwear to take advantage of the outdoor spa next time!
