Alexander Spa Motel is the perfect base to explore nearby Mt Ruapehu. We are located at Taumarunui which is about 45 minutes from Mt Ruapehu. We are a friendly, pleasant 16 Studio unit motel situated just off SH 4 on Marae Street, 50 metres from the RSA, Cafe's and Licenced Restaurants.
All our units offer modern amenities with Sky TV, heating, electric blankets, microwave, tea and coffee making facilities.

It was very cold with inadequate heating in both the room & bathroom. Kitchen area was not very functional either.

The motel rooms are well insulated having been built of solid block they retain their heat very well. To be fair this night was a particularly cold one at -4.2 degrees. The room you were in has 2 heaters and we have extra available if requested. All beds are fitted with electric blankets. As for the kitchen, our rooms are only studios which are equipped with bar fridge, microwave, toaster, jug and cutlery.

Motel was just what we were after for our overnight stay. Staff were so friendly. They were very helpful when we had a car problem when we were leaving. Truly appreciated their help. THANK YOU :-)

1 night stay for a funeral. Booked via Travelbug.co.nz Pretty good value for money. Good free breakfast. Comfy bed. Didn't try the spa. One tip, take bottled water for making hot drinks, even brushing your teeth. This is not the motels fault, but Taumarunui tap water leaves a horible after taste. The Alexander Spa Motel had plenty of very HOT water. Perfect for our needs. Would definitely stay again. Thanks to Andrea at the Motel for assistance.

We had a nice stay. the breakfast was nice, the motel is walking distance to town it is literaly the next street over, we found this great for getting our dinner. the spa was nice, the hosts were friendly, and our room was cleaned before we got back at the end of the day. That was soooo nice. the only thing we didnt have as a family was enough space to hang our swimming stuff. Otherwise everything was quite lovely. would stay again. ;-)

Comfortable and clean. The breakfast was a nice touch but one slice of bread each for toast was a bit lite

As the breakfast is FREE and we also supplied Cornflakes, Muesli, Weetbix & Milk and a selection of spreads, our nutritional advisor advises that the FREE breakfast is sufficient, we do a cooked breakfast for $10, Bacon, Eggs, Sausage, 2 Toast, Butter, delivered hot.
