  • Shona and Brian were very welcoming, the room was comfortable and the bathroom clean. The house is great, with loads of space and fantastic views. We were able to have dinner there the first night which was also very nice. They also leant my boyfriend golf clubs to go and play at the local course in Gore which was very kind. 5

  • Shona and Brian were exceptional hosts and made us feel very comfortable in their home. They were hospitable, warm and very knowledgeable about the area. We enjoyed our stay with them and especially liked their recommendation for a hike in Dolamore Park. The scenic view from the top was amazing and peaceful. Thank you, Diane and Jamie 5

  • Shona and Brian were superb hosts. Shona was eager to ensure that I experienced the region by making recommendations for the Maple Glenn gardens in Wyndham and the Catlins on the south coast while Ted fished the Mataura River. Brian ran his herding Border Collies on his sheep for my benefit. Breakfast was delicious. We would stay at Hokonui again. 5

  • We decided to try a B&B instead of the sterility of a motel. That was a very good move as from the minute we arrived until we left two days later, the Hokonui B&B was our base in Gore. All facets of the stay were excellent. The reception we received from Shona and Brian was very warm - they were interested in us; the view from our room was amazing; the breakfasts were perfect; even the animals greeted us when we arrived. Please don't pass this B&B up. It is well worth the stay and Southland is a very relaxing place to visit. 5
