Ascot Park Hotel is situated on the outskirts of Invercargill. Set in hectares of attractive, peaceful and park-like surroundings, it is still only a 12 minute drive from Invercargill Airport. Ascot Park provides the ultimate in luxury before travlling to the world's most unique and varied scenic attractions - Fiordland, Southern Lakes, Catlins-Chaslands and Stewart Island. The hotel features 4 deluxe rooms, 53 superior rooms, 15 standards rooms and 24 motel units as well as conference facilities for up to 800 people.

We had a good night at the Ascot,the new David Harrington Wing is well done and it's good to see the installation of Daiken heat pumps and this particular night we needed to use the airconditioning otherwise the heat in the room would have been quite uncomfortable (this was from an unusualy warm day in Invercargill)A second card would be ideal so if one person goes out the other person still has lights. We have stayed here a couple of times and the room we had was of a better standard by having the heat pump.Service was good and friendly and I don't think you can expect anything less from an ILT run business. The room rate through travel bug was a great bargain

Tried to check in at 12.30 to be told room wasnt ready, we were then transferred to another room but that wasnt ready either and were asked to wait an hour while it was cleaned.We waited another hour to find the room hadnt even been started. We were then given another room. The supervisor was arrogant, telling us we should have booked the room for an extra night- didnt even get a late checkout- wouldnt stay again....

Thank you for your feedback with respect to your booking at the Ascot Park Hotel. The Ascot Park Hotel has a 10am check out and 2pm check in policy in place. The receptionist on duty did try hard to find a suitable room earlier for you but the Hotel had been full the previous night and a room was just not available. The wait was regrettable and while the team did their best to assist, this did not meet your expectations. Many customers will atest to the fact that the team here will go the extra mile for the client where the opportunity exists, on this occasion it was simply not possible. We had a really modern and beautifully and newly decorated 1 bedroom studio, spacious, clean, tidy, good kitchen though no oven, wonderful spa bath, comfortable beds, comfortable foldout couch.

A very nice stay, great to get to use the spa and pool by ourselves. My only comment for thumbs down is that both us are non-smokers and we found the room to smell abit like smoke, we werent asked either when we booked
