Comments about this property

  • Excellent value and would highly recommend to family and friends.

  • Very similar comments to Paul Rae - Aug 1st. The pool still not available, no tv remote in room initially and then when we got one it wasn't configured to sky sports - and this is 5 minutes after the Bledisloe had started!!! We did eventually get connected but had missed 20 minutes. The worst part though was both the noise of a generator all night and noisy fellow house guests. To top it off the ensuite bathroom did not have a basin so you had to use the kitchen one. Also we are a family of three but only 2 of everything in the room. Very poor, would not stay again or recommend.

  • Really good value for the money. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would stay again.

  • Clean & Tidy, good value for money but let down by failing on the basics, we booked the family "bring your togs" deal only to find out the pool was closed for maintenance, the only reason we chose this hotel was the heated pool! We advised the manager on sat morn that our TV did not work, when we returned that evening he had done nothing, we had to watch the rugby in the bar with 4 other couples whose TV did not work, not good enough. When explained our disappointment on leaving we got a "sorry about that". No heated pool, no sky, pretty close to false advertising, we wont be back .

  • Booked through Accor Advantage. Were given a ground floor room, very musty smell, and urine smell. Not happy with cold and dark room. Asked to be moved and given a thoroughly pleasant room on third floor. Quite a difference to ground floor room ! One night was free as Accor members special, wonder if that is why we were given less than acceptable accommodation????? Staff very efficient, restaurant great. Rooms very tired.

  • Very impressed with this place for the price. Location was great as we often walked into town instead of taking the car. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and spacious. Bathroom a tad dated but we were stoked with our room in general. (which even had its own balcony) and would choose to stay here again.

  • Staff very helpful over maps; not their fault that I found the hotel difficult to find every time, with the one way streets leading to papanui. It took several hours to get new batteries from housekeeping for tv remote control; then we found that in fact the remote was old and worn and only worked sometimes. The television reception was poor. The alarm clock was set for 6 am but went off at 2 am. Good laundry. The place looked good on the surface, but was definitely a bit tired on the inside. We have had better elsewhere for the same cheap price.

  • We were upgraded to the Junior Suite - quite a nice room on the 1st floor - included breakfasts, which were very enjoyable and the staff were all friendly and helpful - close to town made it a good base for our trips around - not "flash" but pleasant enough for a reasonable price.

  • Rooms are very old and need updating badly, staff were pleasant. Would not stay there again unless a major makeover is done on the rooms.
    Libby Keoghan - Oct 31, 2009
  • Back again.Well looked after
