Comments about this property

  • We booked for 4 nights intending to have a good time in Chch. The motel is very well situated as far as restaurants are concerned. A few problems though. One can hear other doors slam in the night, the road passing the front is very busy. Those things were still ok, but the bathroom needs serious attention. One can't get hot water from the shower and the bath has lost some enamel making it look grubby. We stayed one night and booked out the next morning. Front desk was actually quite helpfull, but advised us that we could not get a refund from them because they have not been paid by Travelbug for our stay yet. We took this up with TB on our return just to find out that we have to arrange our refund ourselves. TB did send an e-mail to AML, but we are still waiting for their response. I presume you get what you pay for, but I would suggest that if you are expecting to have a good nights rest and a hot shower when you get back from your day sightseeing that you choose a more expensive acc

  • Good communication with proprietor ahead of visit. Room clean and comfortable and all we needed.

  • Good value accommodation but the bathroom could have done with some maintenance. The WC was detached from the wall and looking like it would join us in the lounge beofre too long. Told the owner but he didn't seem in too much of a hurry to spend the money on repairs. Overall impression OK though - you get what you pay for.

  • Very good experience, handy location and within walking distance of the city centre. Front desk could not have been more helpful. Great value for the money. Would have no hesitation in staying again.

  • Some traffic noise but a small price to pay for such a handy location. The only serious complaint was the condition of the wash handbasin, due to a constantly dripping hot water tap. The proprietor is aware of this but seemed unwilling to grasp the problem of fixing the tap and renewing the handbasin. Overall, good value for the cost involved.

  • I thought this motel was good value and I had a comfortable stay there. I think as far as value for money went, it was good.

  • Bathroom had an awfull odour and needed a clean. Stains on the bath and hand basin. Dish cloth needed a good soak it was very grey looking. We had to wash our dishes in the hand basin. Apart from those few things we enjoyed our stay. We just felt the place was tired looking.

  • Booked for three nights, but we were very disappointed with the accommodation. The room was not ready when we arrived. The motel is very noisy, being on a busy street - Bealey Avenue, and the motel had very noisy neighbors (barking dogs, etc). The room was not cleaned to our standard, bathroom needed an upgrade with enamel coating needing repair and the gardens are untidy. Tried to shorten our stay, but the owner/manager would only cancel the third night as he has a 48 hour notice period. We would not recommend this motel and would not stay there again.

  • This guest arrived before our check in time. We arrange them to a room which is already cleaned. The room is back unit which is very quiet. They stayed two nights and cancelled third night but we did not charge any cancel fee which we should charge them according to our policy.
